The qupqugiaq could easily be a regular polar bear with a couple of cubs, but because it has cubs with it, was especially aggressive, and anybody who survived it would remember it being MUCH bigger, because that's how memories of being attacked work.

At some point you just gotta stop reading, put the waiver down, and ask yourself if 20 grand is really worth getting that Guantanamo Bay, Hanoi Hilton, Andersonville special package deal combo

Specs is hilarious to me because Lobsters could probably get somewhere close to that size, since they only die naturally if they can't escape their own moulting shell, but it would either take the lobster figuring out how to break its own moults, or it'd take someone going down and finding a specific lobster as it's moulting and keep helping it moult for literal centuries. in other words it'd require a lobster cult trying to keep lobster God alive by routinely peeling it like a giant orange every moulting season

I am new subscriber, just now, but even just subscribing I'm hit with the understanding that the God of "other" which is what I deduced in my own walk with Yeshua. That God wanted an equal to have a relationship with, but because one did not exist, he had to create something subordinate, so he could then put a tiny portion of his own eternal nature inside that subordinate and then follow all his own "rules" so he could give that life up to gain all of US. Yeshua is a God of OTHER and because of that eternal concept he created the fundamental and eternal idea reality. He took his Word, clothed it in flesh, to redeem the lesser creation and by paying the ultimate price he created a path to make that which was "less" MORE. Thank you Jesus for your perfect blood! Amen!

what i found extremely funny when reading this story is that it was included in the IF scifi magazine, and it came right after a short story by isaac asimov, you know the guy who goes on and on about the three laws of robotics. it was such a massive tone shift when it comes to robots that i just couldn't help but laugh nervously

And Seventh Day Adventists are NOT like these people, these people take one thing from their twisted mind and then make it into something of their own making and then by the way I’m a member of this church.

I remember a specific stretch of road when I was growing up in Georgia, where about 80% of everything between it and the train tracks visible from it was legit just kudzu. Went down that same stretch of road just a few years ago and while there was still quite a bit, it wasn't as much as I remember, I guess because the area's more developed than it was some 20 years back. Also, just recently, my sister took out a very small kudzu plant that has popped up behind our porch. it was one, long vine, and the first thing it tried to do was choke out our late grandmother's rose bush. My sister was not having it, and went straight for the crown.

I absolutely, 100% had the exact same trauma about the fish in Jak & Daxter. I was terrified to even touch water in that game, even if it wasn't water where he showed up. Something about the anticipation where you could feel it approaching and building up, and how there was nothing you could do to stop him. I also played a lot of War of the Monsters, and I have my own trauma from it. The move where you can throw spikes at somebody to impale them and they have to struggle to rip the spike out always made my skin crawl and made my chest feel tight. It was a weird sort of sympathetic pain.
