Hi wendigoon. I was so excited when I saw the cuban critter part because I'm cuban lol. But the ground sloth fossils aren't really famous in our culture. If you want a true cuban critter, look up the güije! It IS a goblin type of cryptid that inhabits our rivers and it's very important to our folklore and mythology. I hope you get to see my comment!

So on the Bunyip, and some of those local legends. In NSW there's a set of rock formations called the Three Sisters, they're about 900m tall (3000 freedom units) and according to the Dream Time (it's the aboriginal mythological era) story the three sisters are the daughters of a witch doctor (I don't know the aboriginal equivalent naming convention) and were attacked by a Bunyip, in order to save his daughter's their father used a magic bone to turn them into stone, which in turn angered the Bunyip who turns on the father, in the ensuing chase the father survives but loses the bone, never to find it again sealing the fate of the three sisters.

One could make the argument that both the scientist and the monster are Frankenstein, as it’s a last name and the monster in technicality is Victor’s son.

I don't feel the phone storyline was about "ghosts", but about Rick's conscience. In that way, the 3 questions originating there makes perfect sense, as those are the question Rick asks himself when trying to find his humanity back

I didn’t recognize that the Junji Ito nendoroid that got made was Kirie until her hair curled at the end… I wonder why they picked this specific chapter to model the nendoroid after? Like they didn’t pick her straight hair or short hair… prolly because it’s more iconic… hm.

Regarding the Devil bird, in Mexico we have an old saying: "Cuando el tecolote canta el indio muere", roughly translated to: " When the owl sings the indian dies". It has it's origin in a story of Mesoamerican mythology regarding Tezcatlipoca (a god) and his Nahual (Mesoamerican shapeshifter) Was deacribed as an Owl but also as a decapitated man, if you see an Owl that's a bad omen.

So, I've personally never been sold on the idea that Henry's last name is Emily. The only evidence we have for that is Charlie's gravestone in the book. Whenever I read it, I took it to mean that Emily was her middle name, and her last name was omitted as it had been for the entire series.

it really is sad to think that when the monster first was looking onto its creator, the smile was most likely one of marvel or curiosity. Maybe even a natural sense of brothership and love. The exact opposite response that its creator gave to it.
