If you want to know more about the gods of the Wends, I've written a patreon post about it which you can see in here: www.patreon.com/posts/gods-of-wends-29980797 (need to become a patron to read it). Thank you in advance. Cheers!

Arith, incredibly and synchronously 3 days ago I met your channel, I signed up and the videos I see mainly as recommended and related so leaving me scared with so much information, elucidation and happiness of liberation and self-discovery of who I really am, I was and Will be! Wendish or animistic. Thank you very much. You have no idea how you have freed me in this moment of mine from a lot of psychic pain and suffering and spiritual attacks. I loved your word-picture method. It's so much more interesting than just showing the picture. Your description conveyed an image to me that was almost identical with the picture you ended up showing.

I have tremendously enjoyed your Wends video and even though I can’t be a Patreon at this time, I would love to see another video on these topics! You clarify and rectify so much about pagan history, insert facts and bring out how conjecture and manipulation of those facts bring about contemporary believe beliefs, and accurately describe the historical paths on each topic you cover! Just unmatched by other KZbin efforts!!

There are a lot of video's here in youtube about the Lusatian Serbs or Sorbs or Wends. Some in German, some in Lower Sorbian and some in Upper Sorbian. I can recommend to learn how to make Sorbian Easter Eggs.

Great videos, thanks for spending your time and explaining these pagan traditions. As a Serbian, i wanted to shed some light on some of the meanings behind the gods names. I might be wrong on this of course, haven't looked if it's really tied together, but "vit" in "Jarovit" might also refer to "sight". In Serbian and some other slavic languages i presume, "Vit" or "Vid" literally means "Sight", as in "My eyes give me sight (vid)". Could be linked with "Divine sight" or something similar. Another one is "Živa", which in Serbian means "She who who is alive" or "alive" in feminine form. "Siva" indeed means "gray", so i don't know how that is connected. I'm also interested in your opinion on relation between Sorbian and Serbian, haven't looked that much into it myself, but i can't but notice similarities in the names. Thank you for your content!

Arith, excellent video like the ones I've seen. There is so much to see, but with each one I see, I feel myself being filled with more knowledge, elucidation, clearing of limiting beliefs and more fulfilled! I prefer the wends without the lingering influence. An observation: you concur with their cobtato with the Iranians, the duality... Zoroastrianism at the time influenced and also influenced 🙂😊👍🏻. *In your opinion: is there a philosophy, way of life etc prior to animism, Taoism, Semitism, Abrahamism......?* hug from Brazil, Soure, Pará. Thank you very much for this video Arith. As a Dane interested in the Germanic and Nordic culture, I have for a long time wondered how the Wendish people contrary to the Danes, could stay true to their pagan culture. By the the way speaking for the Danes, sorry for the destruction of Arkona in 1168. 😊

The priests kinda sound really similar in social dynamic to the Congressmen of the U.S. But with some extra powers (judicial, magick horses, etc.) Whatever the case, we owe these Wendish priests our gratitude for retaining their Traditions for so long. Another amazing video, thank you SO much!

Sorry for interupting, but as a Pole I can say "Żywa" is derived by the academics of slavic culture from "Żyć" which means to live. Name of the goddess means The Living One which was asociated with her generative powers. Possibly an agricultural fertility deity

Triglav and Trismegistus stem from the same ideas, in many ways. This is also tied to many concepts of the tree of life. Many gods are three fold in ways still very apparent. 3 norns, 3 fates, etc

Lol) Hey, I’ve solved the mysterious meaning of Isvanbrat! Bratwurst and sauerkraut, yum! 😋🙄 PS) Your general knowledge is amazingly wide! Unfortunately, historical “victors” and “oppressors” DON’T usually like ANYTHING about preceding and “neighboring” cultures. So this challenging work is like raising some “1000 year old Titanic remnants” and reconstructing and reimagining their ways of functioning.
