The western world was "kind". They donate food, cloth, and something else they don't need or extra things or their used stuff to underdeveloped countries. They help you, but they just help you stay at the level where you just can survive, you cannot become stronger by yourself under their help. It makes you just like a tool to show how they are kind. But China helps you build the infrastructures (school, Traffic system, hospital..... ) gives you the technologies, and helps your people get education opportunities in China to study technology. With Chinses help you can develop your own economy and you can be stronger by yourself.

China: I wanna buy some minerals from you. Africa: Sure, come and have a look. China: The minerals are great, but the transportation is kinda slow. Africa: But we can't afford to build railways and ports for fast transportation. China: How about this, I'll help you build railways and ports. It makes it easier for us to do business and also for you to develop your own economy. Africa: That's a solid win-win! Couldn't be better. Nice deal! Some westerners from nowhere: EXPLOITATION! COLONIZATION! DARK DEAL! DEBT TRAP! COMPLETE OBLITERATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY!

You literally don't understand do you? Why is it all of a sudden for China to help Africa out. China has never been interested in helping Africans out of kindness. Its simply out of pure hidden agenda. Even though the West has been guilty of doing the same similar thing. What China is doing is literally worse. Just you wait. In the few decades China is going to come back knocking on Africa's door and asking them to repay all those "Gifts". The politicians and government in Africa are corrupt. They only care about themselves not thier citizens. So the government don't care about the serious consequences because effect them but it will effect the citizens. Why can't Africa be independent and try build all these railroads and infrastructure by themselves? Why do they have to have to be so reliant on another country? You don't see parts of South America doing this. You don't war torn place in parts of the Middle East asking for development help. China should be no where near Africa at all. It has absolutely no business with. And people like you are part of the problem. You are not helping in the slightest bit.

Either way you look at it, China is still exploiting them, and with China tinkering with face recognition and advanced surveillance systems, couple that with their totalitarian style rule and you've got a disaster waiting to happen. Before China made large-scale investment in Africa, the western developed countries also operated in Africa for many years. I would like to ask the western developed countries some questions. Have the people of Africa established their own industrial system? Have African people solved the problem of food and fresh water? Has the transportation network (highways, railways, ports, airports) been set up on the African continent? Is Western investment in Africa free of charge? Have the problems of health care, employment and education of African people been properly solved?

Nihal Ar Do you fucking understand how international waters work? What China is doing in Southeast Asia should already have them in a war by now, especially with India. When the Chinese dare to fucking cross into Indian northern territory and dare to claim Indian territory as “Chinese”. If America wanted to do what China was doing all 800 bases globally around the world would be considered “American land” and “American waters” claimed by some flimsy fabricated historical document (what the Chinese always say to state that have a claim to the whole South China Sea, which is horseshit) and America would proceed to sink every ship, destroy every vehicle or thing that even came by those bases (because that is what China is doing in Southeast Asia), but that’s not what happens since those bases are their usually for policing action or plain military defence. Get educated on China before you start getting snarky and being an apologist for fucking Nazi style “let’s seize the goddamn Danzig through fabricated evidence against the Poles” or Russian style “I am suddenly concerned for my Russian minority in Ukraine, we invade tomorrow!”

E Tow The where fuck is this base exactly located, because America has no bases placed on artificially made islands in the South China Sea. And if you are speaking about Djibouti then I don’t give a fuck because American and American Allies with their bases where their first and have permission to be there. China is the newcomer to that land.

Why was the West unable to realize Africa's industrialization in the past 50 years ? France does a lot of good work improving the health of African, figures like Dr Dider Raoult are considered in Africa as national heroes. And it is banned only because it is VERY CHEAP. I would worry about people like Bill Gates instead of France. They control global health care and use not only Africa but their own people as guinea pigs for toxic vaccines.

My favorite part is comparing Chinese economic relationships with Africa as "colonialism". Then why isn't any other economic relationship "colonialism"? Did America "colonialist" China by setting up factories there? Here's the big difference: 1) colonialism by western powers was done by Military Power. You did what they wanted or they shot you in the face. 2. Chinese and African relationships are Voluntary Economic relationships. They came to terms mutually, and African nations are free to stop doing business China at anytime without getting shot in the face.
@blasty137
@blasty137 4 жыл бұрын
Because it was American private companies that set up factories in China, and they only manufacture things there, they don't require China as a country to do anything for them or to give them over its natural resources. Which is what China is doing, they help African countries in order to get their votes in the UN, or when they can't pay back (which they often can't because many of those countries are poor and corrupt) they take over control of their resources or strategically important points, like ports. That's why it is compared to colonialism, they're using economic aid as a tool to extract African countries' resources.

@@arya5094 LOL I am laughing so hard on this fictitious "financial colonialism". you do realize that this debt is risky right? China has gained no power on African anything with this loan because when it comes to countries the only constraint for repaying is morality. Greece for instance. Africa can deny this debt and their government can take back what China is owned when they feel bullied by China because there is no military threat from China. That's the most significant difference between this "business" and "colonialism". They ally with China rather than the bullies who came to their land build nothing and scavenge for 100 years.

Construction of Hambantota Port started in 2008 with loans from the IMF, western institutions and was initially managed by a Singapore firm. The BRI initiative was started in 2013, The Singapore company gave up the management rights. In 2016, the newly-elected government decided to privatise an 80% stake of the port to raise foreign exchange in order to repay maturing sovereign bonds unrelated to the port. Of the two bidding companies, China Merchants Port was chosen, which was to pay US$1.12 billion to Sri Lanka and spend additional amounts to develop the port into full operation. In July 2017, the agreement was signed, but CMPort was allowed a 70% stake. Simultaneously a 99-year lease on the port was granted to CMPort. Note that China only accounts for 10% of Sri Lanka loans. Western media has been running a smear campaign against China based upon false information

When talked about the debt in Sri Lanka, it is not the amount that is the problem. It is conditions that come with it. Compared to other countries, CHINA has a less amount of loan given to Sri Lanka. That is true, the problem is with the contract itself. Look at what happened in the economic crisis of Sri Lanka this year. While other organizations such as IMF and countries such as Japan are willing to restructure the debt to help out until the Sri Lankan economy becomes stable, meanwhile the Chinese government is making it harder than it already is by not even having any productive discussions about the debt restructuring. And also, even though the BRI started kater, China was involved from the beginning. "The Chinese government financed phase one with a 15-year commercial loan from Exim Bank of China, which lent US$306.7 million (85 per cent of the estimated total cost) while the Sri Lanka Ports Authority bore the rest.[29] The loan carried a 6.3 per cent interest rate and specified China Harbour Engineering Company, a state-owned enterprise, as the construction contractor.[30]"

@@dinuxplay8003 The amount is a critical factor and the IMF, western inatitutions, Japan loans were 90% of Sri Lanka loans and at higher interest rates. Loans for projects bundled with a contrator are normal and at concessional interest rates and terms. India high speed train project are at 0.1% interest and stipulated a Japanese firm. @@wulung5943 , Of course, the amount matters, and I never said it didn't. After all, it is literally a loan. But the amount is less critical compared to other factors that come with it. Compare the interest rates offered by certain western organizations and Japan compared to that of China. The interest in itself is way more demanding. I am not saying one is better than the other, East or West, everyone is the same. Lack of transparency? What are you talking about? Groups like IMF are way more public than anybody and they help in restructuring better. There are still over 7 millions slaves in Africa from other Blacks and Arabs What about the Black Tribes that took over Africa slaughtering other minority Groups are the Fascist oh Yes. What is almost never remarked upon is that the people capturing the slaves and transporting them to the coast were Arab Muslim & Africans. Prior to the development of modern vaccines and medicines a European going any distance inland in west Africa was running a serious health risk (it wasn't called a White Man's Grave for nothing). The trade was only possible because Arabs & Africans enslaved others and the en-slavers had been doing it for 7 centuries before the Europeans arrived. Arabs killed more Africans in transit, especially when crossing the Sahara Desert, than Europeans and Americans, and over more centuries, both before and after the years of the Atlantic slave trade. Arab Muslims began extracting millions of black African slaves centuries before Christian nations did. Arab slave traders removed slaves from Africa for about 13 centuries, compared to three centuries of the Atlantic slave trade. African slaves transported by Arabs across the Sahara Desert died more often than slaves making the Middle Passage to the New World by ship. Slaves invariably died within five years if they worked in the Ottoman Empire’s Sahara salt mines. Black Africans did not enjoy immunity to many of the diseases found in the Arab world, which also resulted in high death rates. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zanj_Rebellion Slaveholders in the Muslim world often castrated black African male slaves to serve as harem guards. This is a prime reason there are not many communities of blacks living in the non-African Muslim world today, despite the millions of black African slaves sold into the Muslim world. Many African boys did not survive their castration surgery. As late as 1903, there were still 194 African eunuchs in service to the Ottoman ruling family. African women were enslaved by Arabs more than African men. Few black slave children survived in the Muslim world. In 1860, when 3,000 black female slaves were set free in Zanzibar, only 5% of them had children. Because under Islamic law a concubine bearing the child of the master could become a wife and her children would then share in the inheritance, Middle Eastern wives and children of masters had a strong incentive to interfere with the sex lives of female slaves and cause brutal abortions. Islamic jurisprudence historically allowed abortions in the first four months of pregnancy, long before the West allowed it. Islamic tradition supports the view that the soul enters the fetus at 120 days. If a concubine had the only son, the threat to the wife was even greater. The Koran allowed Muslim men to have as many concubines as they could afford, in addition to four wives. The Arab history of anti-black racism predates European anti-black racism by several centuries. The early Islamic empire exhibited all the characteristics of anti-black racism, and blacks suffered the lowest form of bondage. By 869 A.D., black African slaves in southern Iraq, the despised Zanj, launched an extended slave revolt that threatened Baghdad until 883 A.D. The main reasons we have not heard more about the horrors of slavery in the Muslim world are that Muslims did not express moral outrage against slavery and wrote no abolitionist literature against the institution of slavery. Dr. Thomas Sowell characterizes the moral indignation against New World slavery, and the lack of any such indignation against the Muslim or non-Western world, as “selective moral indignation.” The moral outrage against slavery was and is, in the grand historical context, a European-inspired cause gaining significant traction only in the 1760s. Europeans took photographs of chained black African slaves in Arab slave-trading vessels on the East Coast of Africa in the 1880s. Slavery persisted openly in Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries in the latter half of the twentieth century, 100 years after slavery was abolished in the United States. As late as 1960, African Muslims still sold slaves when they arrived on pilgrimages, as a way to finance their pilgrimages. Arab nations lagged far behind the rest of the world in abolishing slavery: Saudi Arabia and Yemen in 1962, United Arab Emirates in 1963, Oman in 1970 and Mauritania officially in 1981. Today, according to U.S. State Department figures, Muslim nations condone international human trafficking more than Western countries do. David Livingstone observed in Africa the horrendous slave trading practices of Arab and pagan slave traders, decades after Great Britain had begun to suppress the international slave trade, and almost a century after Lord Mansfield, with the stroke of a pen, freed slaves in England. The Ottoman Empire resisted British efforts to suppress slavery and the slave trade. Over the course of 70 years, 2,000 British sailors died to free 160,000 slaves. While Islam urged improved treatment of slaves in some ways, the rapid expansion of the Muslim empire rapidly increased the number of slaves, leading to crueler treatment. Africa and the Middle East never developed the moral abolitionist fervor seen in Western nations. Slavery is now most prominent in Africa. From the time of the Crusades until the early 1800’s, Barbary pirates or corsairs from Muslim North Africa raided European coasts and waters, selling captive Europeans as slaves in North African ports and Istanbul. Barbary corsairs attacked shipping in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, raiding the coasts of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Britain, Ireland, and Africa for slaves. Some Mediterranean islands and coasts in Spain and Italy were abandoned due to the threat of Barbary slave raiding. The United States initially paid tribute to the Barbary pirates to obtain the return of American captives. After building ships, the United States fought the First and Second Barbary Wars to stop this slave trading and piracy. In fact, the desire to defend American shipping and sailors from Barbary piracy gave re-birth to the U.S. Navy. There are plenty of people who traded slaves alive and this is still going on today. 1952: Qatar abolishes slavery. 1958: Bhutan abolishes slavery. 1959: Slavery in Tibet is abolished by China after the Dalai Lama flees. 1960: Niger abolishes slavery (though it was not made illegal until 2003). 1962: Saudi Arabia abolishes slavery. 1962: Yemen abolishes slavery. 1964: The United Arab Emirates abolishes slavery. 1970: Oman abolishes slavery. 1981: Mauritania abolishes slavery. 2003: Niger makes slavery a crime. 2007: Mauritania makes slavery a crime. However the traders in these countries were mostly non-white, so many people are afraid to mention it.?
