You guys nailed it! Within the first few minutes I knew this was more about how she wanted to be portrayed rather than her actual life. At the end where she basically said she only went to rehab because of her husband and not because she actually had a problem I was just like 🙄... movie was entertaining but certainly not good.

Exactly this show was just a way to make Wendy feel good about herself and have a pity party at the same time. I can't wait to read little Kev's tell all book when she's gone.

Very fun review. You guys were generous, LOL. It was a hot mess! I’ve been a fan of Wendy since she was on nights at KISS FM. She was funny and witty. Also loved her later on WBLS. My problem is, for someone who is in everybody’s business, she sure left a ton of hers out of the movie. This was basically a less successful remake of Private Parts. Hugs from a frigid East Coast ❤️

Natalie Cole had a pretty decent bio pic as well. I believe it may have been a mini series....but I can't recall right now. Wendy is actually a VERY campy acting woman in real life.

I would love to get my hands on a still of Robin Givens as Wendy Williams (She apparently wore a fat suit), in the first Wendy film shot around 2007/8, which was shelved.

Wendy Williams radio interview with Whitney Houston is a classic I continue to listen too over and over. And if you ever want to learn about Sherrick, who date rapped her, read the Raynoma Gordy book about her years at Motown. She was a cougar who managed the drug addict Sherrick career and it will remind you of what Bobby DeBarge probably went through during the same period. I will have to watch Surviving Compton even though I never could get through Straight Out of Compton.

Wendy William The Movie had the highest rating in Lifetime history but I was disappointed. Everything was rushed and I didn't see where the character was developed. I know the movie can only be max 2 hours long and she had a deal with lifetime but I wish it was a mini-series so that we can actually have more detail about her life and not be rushed. Maybe she didn't think people would be interested in a mini-series but most of the things she shared in the movie, we already knew. However, I had no idea she had an abortion or was raped, that was shocking to know. I enjoyed her documentary a lot more than I did the movie. Wendy William The Movie is only a one time watch for me. I have no interest in watching it again.

I wanted the 2 hours of my life back. Wendy was in charge of this $hit movie. All from her POV. Kelvin was made to be total demon and Wendy an Angel... whatever? I was rolling my eyes during this whole movie. It didn’t make me sympathetic towards her. Typical Lifetime movie blah! I had to stop watching her talk show. Talk about a mess. Her audience is just a bunch of clapping seals.

LOL! I had a feeling this movie would be messy and I am NOT surprised. I think this would have been better if WW hadn't been involved.

Have to remember that most of the gossip she told would get her sued now so they couldn’t risk that. Also if they put certain people they would have had to pay them. CTG definitely made that known bout him if she talked abt their time. She also made sure to not get known actors cause it would take away atleast that’s what she said.

I saw this when it premiered and enjoyed the review. But if I can remember the main reason she was fired from her first NYC radio show, was because she outed Puff Daddy. Apparently this is still an issue because they didn’t really deal with it. But overall it was enjoyable and so was the documentary that followed.

As a huge fan of Wendy Williams and someone who watches her talk show on a regular basis, I felt the movie could've been pushed further like some stories could've been pushed further. In my opinion, although Kevin Hunter is no longer her manager something tells me that he was involved somewhat in the making of the documentary which I like a lot better than the film. I learned that Wendy Williams knows to compartmentalize whenever something bad happens to her she moves forward but I feel that's a give with those that have watched Wendy over the years. I loved the review and I just subbed!

Wendy is a Capricorn and Mary J Blidge is a Capricorn also. What else’s do these women have in common? They both tell the SAME stories over and over again. They hold all of the cards really close to their chest and that why when they come out and say that they have a story to tell it’s always the same song and dance. Yea, they need to be dead for us to get any really stories from their lives. ALSO all Capricorns swear that everybody is hating on them. Lol it’s laughable because they are real life villains, sometimes, and it’s never them, it always us!! Lol

I don’t think this movie was aiming for an Emmy or an Oscar. I think you’re over analyzing it from a completely wrong perspective. It’s. a. Lifetime. TV. Movie. Have y’all seen a Lifetime TV movie before?? This is the STYLE of TV movie making they do. They weren’t aiming for a Lee Daniels film.....or Color Purple. Geez 🙄🙄🙄

I get the schtick btw/you 2 beauty and brains/black dude is hella hot/and the white dude is a better critic and is always correcting the left side candy w/he gets his sequences of facts jumbled which is often /in terms of the movie was bullshit a classic case of how Wendy can serve it but can't receive it .....it was the biggest dishonest 1/2 truths that made it ultimately dishonest.
