@AlonzoLerone we’ve had fruit fly issues before. The way we got rid of them was to put about an inch or two of vinegar in clear cups and put plastic wrap on top. Put several holes in the plastic wrap using a toothpick, this way the fruit flies can get in but not out. Also, make sure to get rid of any old fruit or vegetables that are borderline bad or bad. Also, wipe down surfaces the flies have been on, including where the old fruit or veggies were being held - cabinets, countertops etc. this is because fruit flies lay eggs wherever they land if they can stay there for it at least a minute and you do not want the fruit fly eggs to hatch a new generation of fruit flies. Change the vinegar out every three days, and within about two weeks, you should be good to go! This is the option that we have used because we didn’t want to spend extra money on expensive bug spray and stuff, especially since some of those bug sprays sometimes release bad chemicals into the air. However, if you’re looking for far quicker results, and don’t mind cost, this works ok too. Hope it helps!

Keeping all fruit in the fridge helps and not leaving anything with food or drink residue on the counters for too long helps (if you have soda cans out - rinse them, remove any sitting food after eating off plates and rinse them off if you can't wash them right away). I also keep all the food in my cupboards in reusable plastic containers. My neighbours (in my apartment building) have mentioned keeping food catchers in the sink drains and cleaning out the drains with baking soda and vinegar (but I haven't tried that myself so I can't vouch there).
