My heart breaks for him hearing about all the pain, loneliness, and darkness he struggled with. Knowing that he felt the only way around all of that was to end his life saddens me more. Thank god he did not succeed and that he finally found the light he was so desperately looking for. Wentworth is a beautiful man, a beautiful soul. I admire him for speaking his truth and in doing so has probably helped/reached a lot of people. This world is definitely a better place with him in it.

yes i can my parents said something like that to me they abandoned me when i was last depressed just hurt and no longer had the will to live and attempted suicide again I'm in therapy to give up all the bad things from the past and take pills for depression

I am a recent addition to the fan base of prison break thanks to Netflix. The beautiful relationship between Michael and Lincoln was raw and unconditional and transcends into real life when I see them interviewed together. I’m so drawn to the level of respect and admiration that these two men that couldn’t be more opposite feel for each other. In my quest to learn more, Wentworth has impressed me in his journey of living his truth and walking with balance. I see him as a hero and an example everyone should follow. Living with honesty, appreciation and integrity is what should be taught at a very young age and support should be there every step of the way to achieve that personal truth. It has taken him many years to reach where he is but thank goodness he is here, like he stated in his Oxford interview. Thanks goodness you are here. Life is full of ups and downs, sometimes more downs than ups but you taught us to walk through each moment as best you can, using tools you know will help you and know it’s ok to reach out for help at any point along the way. Thank you for being here and a great role model.

every words he says... it hit me so hard ive been through the same.. having been experienced body shaming since i was a child.. i remember going through all the family photo albums cutting out all my pictures because i hate the way i look. it doesnt stop there. as i bacame a teenage girl.. i met someone who offered time to listen to me, i fell for it.. but it was a wrong person.. he used and abused relations that we have.. my family found out (strictly religious) and i was abandoned, they sent me to live in hostels far across the country.. i was depressed.. n no one knows.. i never speak about it coz i dont know what "depression is". i once stab myself with a knife and bleed myself out in the school bathroom just because i want to be sent out of school.. i remember i was lying to every single person, friends, teachers, classmates about my health condition ... i pretend that i was sick.. i bought penicilin and whatevr i could grab from a pharmacy near my school and pretend to my warden that i was terminally ill,, so that i could skip school.. i was doomed... it went worse when i entered university, where i got confuse to blend in.. i dont know who i was nor waht i wanted.. all 4 years of my degree.. was a waste.. but i made it through with first class degree.. i wish i heard this speech at that time, i wish i knew wentworth at the hardest time of my life...
