mario theory: if jumpman is marios dad? then why isnt pauline marios mom? i figured it out. after jumpman saved pauline from cranky kong he got revenge on cranky kong and trapped him in a cage and donkey kongs dad (donkey kong jr) wanted to save his dad from that jumpman! so pauline broke up with jumpman because he was so mean to donkey kong jr witch made jumpman go suicide and REALLY mad at pauline and thats why we never see them togeter no longer. so jumpman married marios mom and pauline changed her look and sprayed herself with brown hairspray so jumpman wouldnt notice her and have an argument. and in super mario oddysey she was proud of her ex son for saving her city! jumpman and pauline hates each other now

My only problem with the noose theory is they killed witches more then just by hanging. The more common method in most of the world was burned at the stake. Hanging was used for most of the Salem witch trials. So the noose could have just been used for criminals in rouge port in the past for all we know.

TBH, even if Mario gets married, just because Peach is the heir to the throne doesn't automatically mean that Mario would be the Mushroom King. In real life, for example, Queen Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip, was not crowned king, as, in Britain, in order to become the successor to the British (and Commonwealth) Crown, you must be born into the family (according to Encyclopedia Britannica). HOWEVER, Britain is only one country, and different monarchies may have different rules to each other, so there is still a possibility of Mario being the next Mushroom King, but let's keep this in mind. (BTW, It's quite interesting how, in spite of having yet to receive my first Mario game as of this moment, I know how to dissect the potential lore of the Mario world.) EDIT: As of November 5, I've received my first Mario game.

I think the royalty system in mushroom kingdom isnt you change ur title when ur parents die but you get in power when ur parents die but ur name changes when you get married just like in some movies and this would make sense for mario movies lore too since peach is not married still shes princess but thats just a name and shes the one in charge of everything still and she will become queen peach when she and mario get married just like you said

The smiling bloody teeth toad scared the final smash out of me. I mean if I was playing smash bros and I saw that I'd lose the smash ball and lose the battle.
