Do you have a fiscal description of each indigenous group such as Siboney, Arawak and Carib. Maybe pictures? I wonder if the history that was given to us was some how vague to fit their misconstrued ideas. I'm sure that we can do facial construction of skulls to show proof. Example: Webster's Dictionary of 1828 definition of an American. " Native America, originally applied to the Aboriginals, or copper color races, found here by the Europeans; but now applied to the descendants of Europeans born in America"... What do they mean by Aboriginals or Copper Colored Races? I thought 🤔💭 that there is only one race among indigenous of the Americas 🌎 You know long hair, dark skin and chinky eyes. Thank you🐢

The Kalina or Karina are a separate indigenous group in south America and their language is classified as Cariban. Karina came into the lesser Antilles and mixed with the Arawaks there giving rise to the Kalinago people. Caribs in the Chronicles are the Kalinago. They were described as being more war like than the Tainos. There were trade relations between Tainos and Kalinago so it's possible there some Kalinago on the island of Hispaniola. Good book to look up Caciques and Cemi idols by Jose R. Oliver.

Ok so explain this one. Columbus hadn’t realized he had discovered a new continent when he wrote about the Caribs.

The video is not about Columbus. The video is about explaining Caribs (the Kalinago) were not cannibals. Read the book myths and realities of Caribbean History by Basil A. Reid.

@@AntilleanFederation Columbus was the first person to coin the term cannibals and it was based on what he saw happening on Hispaniola at the time. It is about Columbus.

@@AntilleanFederation here’s the thing Columbus didn’t know it was a new continent and native tribes all over the world have practiced cannibalism. And on top of all that there were numerous members if that voyage that wrote about cannibalism happening. On top of all that there is new dna evidence proving that the Caribs were in the Caribbean-and they did practice cannibalism.

@@AntilleanFederation do you understand that not only did Columbus claim they were cannibals so did that Taino people ?look man I am not claiming I know for fact that there was cannibalism happening but I do know you don’t have any evidence they we’re not. Your whole argument is basically that Columbus lied and all his partners lied.

@@stuckinthemud4352I can tell by your responses you do not study Caribbean archeology. This was already explained by archeologist in detail. No evidence whatsoever for cannibalism in the Caribbean by Arawaks.

Just curious but what exactly would be evidence? The culture has no written language. The story’s Columbus wrote if true would have no evidence left would there. Is lack of evidence proof?

There's archeology and linguistics. There is no ethnographic nor archeological evidence to support the idea of Caribs (Kalinago) being cannibals or cannibalistic. Instead what we have is a historical riff, due to the arawak taking the women to increase their numbers. Get the book myths and realities of Caribbean history by Basil A. Reid.

The proper name for Caribs is Kalinago which means people of the cassava clan. The beef between Tainos and Kalinago was over Arawaks taking their women to increase their numbers. Get the book Myths and Realities of Caribbean History by Basil A. Reid.

When you don’t have a source you are just playing biased, Fray Bartolomé defended the Native populations against abuses ; about the Caribs Indians he didn’t just have an opinion about them, he got facts and events on different Spanish ships on others geographic location in Venezuela. What you saying it’s lacking of evidence .

@marceloolavarria84 first of all my videos are based on the source material which is usually from cited Caribbean anthropologist, linguistic studies and DNA articles. Including native Lokono speakers I speak to regularly. Someone is in there feelings. I am well familiar with the chronicles. Sir you should actually read the cited material I referenced. Not your wasted comment because you don't study Caribbean archeology. Fail.
