There's this glitch that happens every time I play that no one has covered yet. Every single time. When I begin playing, and it doesn't matter what world I'm in, after about 2 minutes of playing my 3 year old comes over and just takes the Switch from me. It happens every single time. Do you think Nintendo patched this one out too? I'm hoping so.

To be fair though the ones they removed were gamebreaking (for the majority of them). I'll run through them just to show what I mean. Back in time while being cool looking also removed being able to die going through the death barrier which also (besides falling forever) distorted mario the longer you let him fall. The moon frog was a big enough skip that Nintendo wanted to remove it and probably because swimming on air looks weird. The dog jump glitch was removed because it was never intended to be able to go to the top of any world and there's nothing up that high anyways though it would make some skips possible so Nintendo felt the need to remove it (in my opinion this is the least gamebreaking one though). The wet nut glitch while being hard in it's own right to perform correctly led to the potential to get extremely high up and some small skips but it must've been enough that Nintendo removed the possibility (Also it was annoying to even try to pull off so I'm actually kinda glad it was removed). Gushen was patched because it led to the most out of bounds of any glitch (besides glydon) that I'm aware of so they wanted to remove that possibility. The talkatoo glitch was patched because of 3 things one being the camera being locked which goes against the freedom of the camera in the game, the infinite jump rope scores, and the weird effect when you go to a new area while the camera was still locked in place (on the plus side though it may have inspired the neon camera effect so that's cool though). Lastly Glydon was patched because going through any object with a corner is inherantly broken and presumably if anyone did that on accident could ruin the game for them because of how broken it is. They actually left a lot of minor glitches though they may end up fixing the OOB glitches eventually. But all in all they did just try to remove gamebreaking glitches and a few I personally think they could've kept but at least there's still a lot of minor glitches for now and the potential for more in the future.

Trihex has pulled off the clip on stream like 7 times, almost consistently. The top clip is easy, but the bottom one in snow used for Darker Side speedruns is very hard. The same goes for pyramid and sphinx clip. Clipping is difficult now.

Cappy roll clipping has been partially patched; it seems to be far stricter than before, but there's walls where it's still possible. (Sphinx clip isn't one of them.)

No, they patched several speedrunning glitches. Clipping is (pretty much) patched. Apparently, it's frame perfect now and it obviously isn't ideal to risk for a 4 second time save which would only be effective if you get it first try. Unless clipping being hard was an oversight, it will most likely not be used in speedruns anymore. The turnip clip in Luncheon was patched, where you used the turnip to slide the hammer bro into the cage. That saves about 8 seconds if done perfectly, and that glitch doesn't even have any purpose in a casual playthrough. So it was obviously patched on purpose to slow down speedruns. And yeah, the darker side was patched (used in the speedrun to save around 5 minutes), although it could also transcend to affect casual playthroughs, so it was more of a patch for both instances. So yeah, they did keep in some important tricks like dino jump, klepto skip, moon skip and RC clip, but those aren't really glitches in the first place. It doesn't break the game's mechanics at all.

Dean MG these weren’t good glitches... talkatoo made the jump rope unfair. Frog air swimming skipped the entire darker side, so it took away all of the challenge. Out of bounds isn’t good either because you could use it to skip things. Most of the glitches just made the game too easy

Hey I got a challenge. It's sorta like the green demon challenge but different. So go to any kingdom and find the dog the let the dog catch your hat. Once that happen you must try to get as many moons as possible without getting cappy back. The dog goes slower than the 1-up in SM64 but if you move too far away from the dog you automatically get cappy back!

1.0 is banned and factory resetting is not worth the effort. You lose all your data and unless you bought a Switch to only play and speedrun this game, it's worth risking. 99% of the people speedrunning this game have data that they don't want to get wiped, and there's no way to backup saves on the Switch.

I've had a funny little moment where I took a goomba up to the steep ramp in the Wooded Kingdom, and I kept shaking to get up the ramp quickly. He stayed on it, despite still technically jumping, and he zoomed up the ramp! Seeing as this is a sandbox game, they wouldn't need to patch so many glitches. But with the release of an online mode they needed to make it fair for everyone, which is why only some glitches got patched, not all.

Im a little upset the talkatoo glitch and the frog skip were patched since that means I can't really do Jump Rope Genius and Darker Side anymore since Im really bad at both of those but I have to hand it to Nintendo here. Actively searching out any evidence of problems with the game they may have missed... I feel like this game's gonna become unbreakable soon. Or something close to it. That being said, some of these glitches being fixed might screw up speedrunning for this game though. Regardless, you've got to give props to Nintendo for this patch.

What you're saying applies to every single player game ever. You buy a game, beat it, and move on. Odyssey is no different, it's just that the journey to the end is more satisfying than other games, but the aftermath of beating the game is no different. People are just lingering on to it so long because the game keeps selling and new people buy it, and it's essentially what most people solely own. The reality is they should've bought something like MK8 or Splatoon alongside. That's why the balloon world update was added to increase the replayability of Odyssey, but that doesn't seem like it'll last too long with current players and will constantly get new players as once you max out your coin counter and have nothing to buy left, you've pretty much got no reason to keep playing balloon world. If they could keep adding new kingdoms and costumes to compensate for Odyssey sales, along with another online mode, Odyssey could end up having almost as much replayability as something like Mario Kart. But the devs making that a free update would be wishful thinking, as the reality is they don't need to add anything more to the game and it would still sell. The good news is that the director said he is open towards adding more updates or DLC.

Yeah i found Odyssey too short one sitting it took for me to finish the main game. Then i would just spam MK8D, Spla2n or Skyrim until the next game, or i just play a Wii game or something

Hey Dave! Long time fan of the channel (and the reason I made my own channel). So after messing around with the cappy cancel clip/roll clip I figured out some of the new rules for the glitch to work. For instance lets take the New Donk City T-Rex clip and New Donk City Easy OOB clip (pretty sure those are cappy/roll clip (and yes I tested them and they still work as easy as always after the update). What I found from both of them is there is nowhere else for Mario to go. In the T-Rex clip he's stuck between the two trash cans, and usually can not move backwards. And in the New Donk City Easy OOB glitch, Mario's stuck between the man and the railing. So I think because Mario has no where else to go, the game tries to find any spot of collision that it can find, thus, the game pushes him in the direction of a weird collision spot that lets him clip out of bounds.This is all just speculation, but it makes sense considering the pyramid clip and the Shiveria clip won't work. Because there's nothing to push Mario forward in that direction. Just thought it was an interesting discovery. Keep making these videos man 👍🏻

The Gushen Clip still works! Ive been using it before and after the patch for literally no reason. It is much harder after the patch though. I always just kept bouncing and groundpounding it and it gets pushed into the floor. I didn't realize the known way to do it was to take it lower.

Hey Dave I have a question, how is speed running SMO gonna work if Moon Skip gets fixed? (I know it isn't yet but it might eventually.), I know the game could still be speed ran, but if moon skip gets deleted then players will have to go through the moon cave, adding about 2-3 minutes to the overall time which would be different than previous runs which had moon skip.

The first Moon Skip still works on Version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2. But only on 1.0 the cutscene will trigger when you do the dino-skip for the bossfight. So in the newer Versions the skip is completely useless because you stuck
