At my Oscar party, we ALL said that John Mulaney should be the next host and we thought it was our idea, too!

Fine fine, we can share the credit for this great idea but NO ONE ELSE 😂

Finally -- yes, I totally agree that we need the film clips! It was so empty without getting a snippet from those Oscar-worthy performances.

Did they start giving awards to deserving movies like Oppenheimer, bc of how ratings went down from them giving out woke criteria awards like: everything everywhere all at once just bc it was an Asian cast, Nomadland bc the director was Asian & female; showed her talent when she made Marvel’s Eternals (the 1st marvel movie with a bad review, & was boring as heck even though it had an allstar cast & high budget), green book bc it said racism was bad (never heard that message before), Shape of Water complaining about toxic masculinity, power of the dog complaining about toxic masculinity, moonlight bc Jada Pinkett Smith complained about the Oscar’s being too white the year before. How best actress comes after best director now, since the actress is the most important part of the movie now I guess. The viewership spiked when it came to Oppenheimer winning at the end. It’s almost like people were surprised they were picking good movies & tuned in to see Chris Nolan finally get an award he deserved in 2010 with Inception.

At the end, I wasn't surprised Barbie only won for Original Song. I believe the snubs backlash did more harm than good for Barbie because the voters don't like to be told what to do 🤷♀️ It's possible that Barbie could win the WGA award for Original Screenplay in April, which would be more preferable than The Holdovers due to the recent plagiarism allegations.

Yeah, those Holdovers allegations are pretty gnarly.

I thought bringing out the past actors/actresses was soooooooo cringey and uncomfortable!

Wow really?? That's such an odd viewpoint. That was a great thing they did. Makes it classy and respectful
