Just FYI, my rules for blocking a buyer: 1. Non-Payment on something they bought, 2. Repeated low-ball offers, 3. Any return for any reason, 4. A string of questions on a low value item.

I don’t think that feedback negative or neutral should be allowed for shipping unless you didn’t ship on time or you packed something badly. We are completely out of control once USPS, UPS, etcetera receives the shipment. eBay should have the algorithm filter those out.

Yea, it’s gotten worse now. No matter the reason if I’ve gotten neutral/ bad feedback out of my control or whatever eBay’s new policy / response is “people should be allowed to voice opinions regardless of outcome.” They refuse to do anything about it now. To many people were abusing the system with 100% feedback getting bad feedback removed and now they just won’t help at all. I agree with you though.

Get receipts for your packages... I believe the postman can scan them. I have lost money on items that the Post Office never scanned. I always get receipts now.. If they have the Tracking number, they can better track the package, because they use GPS rather than scanning activity. It is different. Sellers are not responsible for Slow Post Office.... Ebay should protect you in that case...

They should absolutely send a message before leaving negative or neutral feedback, pretty sure eBay even suggest it before hand. Either way once you shipped that package it’s out of your control, leaving a neutral or negative feedback with no contact because the carrier messed up seems petty to me. I had someone do the same thing, they ordered in a holiday weekend. I shipped it the next day after the order and they said it didn’t arrive fast enough 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Each business makes its own determination regarding HOW the business is run. You have the experience to do so. I have no issue removing potential future business (after 25 years of experience) from prospective buyers in certain circumstances. I see it as a form of insurance. I am abundantly blessed with fabulous buyers!

Im currently dealing with a shipping issue. Contacted the seller and it's radio silence. Im definitely not happy. It's one thing where there's an issue and you don't reach out and a completely different issue when they don't respond back. They will likely receive a negative from me on that alone.

I went back and blocked every buyer that's left a neutral or negative comment ever last month! Certain buyers are just crazy period! They never send you a message so you can try to correct the issue! Life is just too darn short!

The closed case thing with USPS is ridiculous with how it works. Those cases are opened under the RECEIVING PO's location. When I have had them call me, they just say "we don't have it yet." Yeah, I am aware, that is why I opened the case! They immediately close the case, because they looked for it there and could not find it. So, I wait a few days and file a missing mail case and waste even more time....but, after so many days you can then file a claim and they pay out on insurance, which is a nice change from the old first class packages that you had to buy insurance on separately.

They used Native Indian names back when I served, but you can find Navy ships named after people, heroes, animals, fish, cities, states and events like famous battles..😉

The lost package thing happens in Australia as well. Lodge an enquiry and 100% delivered next day. I would never leave a negative or neutral feedback for postage problems, especially if l hadn't asked the seller to look into it first, that's pathetic.

I've not had too many negatives thank God but always seems to be someone who ask a thousand questions, asking where the item is or asking for tracking number the next day after paying for item, almost always an item under or around 20 dollars and of course a new buyer with 0 feedback.

The lost package thing blows my mind also. Almost always when I submit one with USPS the package suddenly starts moving or gets delivered. It's like Lonnie touching an item in the shed and it sells the next day. :)

Atomic Clock Retail Packaging: That oversize display/security packaging is annoying and wasteful. You see a lot of it at big box stores like CostCo, in an attempt to limit theft of their small items. Had 1 last week like it. The item was a small Thumb Drive in a package about as big as you clock. When I list such things, I'll put a "Shipping Note" in the listing to the effect that I plan to score fold over the package to save the buyer money on shipping. No one has ever complained. I think putting the note in at the start is the key. 😉

I just recently blocked a buyer because he returned an item which is fine...but he put reasoning as "Received the wrong item" which was not accurate. He did in fact receive the right item. When I asked him why he put that as his reason he ignored my message. Then he began harassing me about his refund before I could even receive the item back. GOODBYE 👋🏼 to him after that. Lol

From my understanding dealing with lost USPS packages, USPS has GPS data for the last location where the package was scanned. I was also told by a USPS worker when I was contacted after submitting a lost mail request that the request is received by the post office/USPS facility where the package will be sent out for delivery and not the last place it was scanned.

I think I saw that buyer ask about the package in your time away video comment section. I bought something from a seller in Chicago and the package went from Chicago to Puerto Rico then back on the mainland to a couple other place then to me in California. The seller was so nice giving me daily updates. I told her USPS has finally lost their mind and not to worry it will eventually get to me. 😄

Did you try to get the feedback removed? Ebay removed a negative left on us instantly because the buyer did not do an item not received and mentioned usps and how slow they were in the feedback. This is in the feedback policy: Item delivery issues We remove neutral/negative feedback when the buyer is referencing: A delivery issue where tracking shows us that the delivery or handling time expectations were met A delivery issue where a natural disaster or unexpected event caused a carrier delay A customs or tax issue outside the seller’s control that we could identify...

I am getting sick and tired of the USPS delays and lost packages. I am running about 5% of all my orders getting delayed/lost. I have one tat was shipped 8/28 and had some scans and then stopped moving. On 9/11 I submitted a missing mail request and now 9/18 there has been no movement and no info from USPS. USPS is making sellers look bad and causing a lot of heartache and extra work. They provide no guarantee but eBay makes it seem like we can control delivery by giving buyers an expected delivery date.

Some buyers are just absolute m0rons. They have little to no idea how eBay works. As long as the seller ships safely and in timely matter, the rest is on usps. Anybody who deals with shipping knows usps is by far the most unreliable. Especially with the crazy weather. Leaving a neutral or negative for such reasons is completely unjustified. But some buyers don’t possess the basic critical thinking skills to comprehend the whole situation. So they simply leave a neutral/negative. So annoying some people 🤦‍♂️

I block anybody with no feedback, anybody that asks too many obvious questions that are most of the time explained in the description. I'll even cancel orders if someone doesn't have feedback and looks suspicious (they usually ask nonsensical questions, or questions after they buy). Any buyer that returns Unless it's my fault. I don't care 🤷‍♂️

Me personally, I don't block the low-ball offers. I actually welcome them! I'll counter with $1 less than my listing price. If the buyer still wants to play hardball, I'll counter $.01 (one penny) less. On the 3rd attempt I'll simply decline their offer. Best offers and counter-offers (regardless of how insulting they are) drive your listing higher in the eBay algorithm. It gets you more views! You're welcome ❤❤

Yes! That's wrong 😮... as a buyer , that doesn't purchase often on Ebay. I would not have known that a "neutral feed back" would be so insulting to a seller that I might get 'blocked'. Especially with that type of experience to the buyer. As much as I love you and Candace, I did not expect that. I am sad that you and other sellers feel that way. I think you are losing (nieve) buyers like myself when you do that.😢

I would have blocked them too. eBay should be able to remove that. The only type of feedback eBay successfully removes for me is anything related to shipping carrier package delays. I have had the same experience with USPS missing mail search and the worst are the few orders over the years that get stuck in a cross country loop between distribution centers or get put on the wrong plane and sit for a week in a bin waiting to move in the right direction.

No you were not wrong. If a buyer is going to leave you neutral/negative feedback, no communication, no patience... you are under no obligation to sell to them. I recently sold a game where I clearly demonstrated in the title, condition notes, pictures and description that it was incomplete and they demanded a refund because the game was.... wait for it... incomplete. I refunded them and blocked them. If the customer can't read, can't communicate, has zero patience, or is going to harm the reputation of your business due to something that is not your fault, why give them the further privilege of your time when you are under no legal obligation.
