My husband whose passed was one of the rescuers no roads was hard to get to the survivors. He was from Idaho. The trees today sticking out of the water are scary reminder

Oh my. That is amazing. Did he leave any written recollections of the event or the rescue efforts?

Thank you! I appreciate all the clear information and also that you named names. Mrs. Miller and her dog are quite a miracle.

Still trying to catch up with your past videos. This was quite interesting although very sad. Thanks for including the pictures. Brought history to life.

Thanks. This was really a fascinating event to study. My mom remembers how it was such big news when she was a child.

was just there last weekend. My grandmother would talk about this occasionally, they had friends that were camping there and lost their lives. if I recall, they are among those still buried there. It's an eerie place. Haunting.

I was a young child, but I recall this. We had camped there the night before the earthquake. My parents were quite shaken when they realized we had missed this by less than 24 hours.

My family visited this lake and the surrounding area when I was 12. The place creeped me out completely and I had nightmares for months afterwards.

I was just watching RVerTV on KZbin where he was visiting Hebgen Lake and he talked about the earthquake. I used to live in SoCal, and experienced a few earthquakes including the Whittier and Northridge, an E-Ticket ride.
