two things amazed me. 1: Man-Thing was a practical suit with CGI enhancement, 2: The shadow transformation scene was all done in camera

This is seriously one of the coolest monster movies I’ve ever seen! I thought it’d be at most kind of good but this special is honestly a 10/10 for me. Michael Giachinno should direct the next Blade movie. I loved the use of film grain, black and white, and the very old school style soundtrack. And the makeup and visual effects for both The Werewolf and Ted/Man-Thing were amazing. I don’t think we’ll see them in an Avengers movie but I would love to see more of them as well as Elsa Bloodstone in future MCU projects. Also I loved the very subtle jokes of Jack being a wolf because before he sits down to talk with Elsa he turns around in place like a dog and in the cage he scratches his ear really fast like a dog.😂

This was so, so, SO GOOD!!! Easily one of my favorite things that Marvel has done!! Both Jack and Elsa were fantastic, and I can't wait to see more. A few other things: 1) They nailed Man-Thing!! He's my favorite Marvel monster, and I am so very happy with his introduction! For those who don't know,, he was a scientist named Ted Sallis, and as Man-Thing he is drawn to people's emotions, especially fear. His tag line in the comics was "Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch!" 2) I haven't heard any reactors mention this yet, but there was a fun little easter egg in the opening narration when he said the phrase "where monsters dwell," which was the title of a long-running Marvel horror comic. 3) I strongly recommend that you watch the Disney+ documentary "Director by Night," which is about Michael Giacchino and his brother, and how they grew up making movies with their friends. It's extremely good! Keep it up Wendy and Dustin!! You guys are awesome!

Best Disney+ since Loki and I absolutely love it! The introduction of the dark layer as separate from the super heroes just gives them all kinds of freedom. There were actually several Marvel horror comic easter eggs in this which had me geeking out. Looking forward to more!

I loved this special, we get introduced to iconic horror supernatural characters like werewolf by night jack russel, man thing ted sallis and elsa bloodstone. Fun facts: the narrator voiced thor in avengers earths mightiest heroes, elsa and her dad dont have the best rapport in the comics either as far as im aware, bloodstone reveals the true form of a monster, man thing was a scientist who works in the everglades once again og the super soldier formula his gf was working for aim he escaped used the serum on himself fusing with the swamp matter into his current form that guards the nexus of all realities and all who know fear burn at his touch. Jacks lycanthtopy is hereditary curse due yo dracula and currently thiers a new werewolf by night ehose native american . Hopefully we get to see more specials like this in the future hell this be a good way to introduce other lesser known characers into the spotlight. All im hoping is for the eventual formation of the midnight sons AKA the supernatural avengers

Elsa Bloodstone is the daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone a legendary monster hunter who for 10,000 years fought the forces of darkness. The 'bloodstone' is an supernatural ancient relic that endows its possessor with enhanced strength, durability, healing, and longevity. Man-Thing was a former biochemist Ted Sallis who took the super soldier serum fell into a mysterious swamp with mystical properties that transforms him into a muck monster who is sworn Protector of the Nexus of All Realities. Jack Russell is the ill-fated inheritor of a family curse that during the height of the full moon becomes Werewolf By Night with all the attributes of a lycanthrope.

Some of the best marvel content I've seen tbh. Loved man-thing I think he's definitely going to be a big player moving foward in the multiverse saga as he gaurds the nexus of all realities (basically a gateway to other dimensions) so that'll be cool to see.

I truly hope this becomes a Disney+/Marvel annual tradition: A Halloween Special. Will all three characters return on the next one or do they mix it up? Maybe one or more of them could be the focus of the story one year, others the next, and they keep introducing new scares. In the regular MCU, no character gets a movie every year, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is a while before we see all three of them again.

All things Man-Things were my favorite. Let’s go Ted!!! Interestingly, Man-Thing and Swamp Things were created individually by two friends. Man-Thing debuted first and 6 months later Swamp Thing. DC had gold with Swamp Thing and I hope Marvel realizes they have the same now so don’t blow it.

Nice reaction. This was great. The only thing that could have made it a bit better would have been a Kraven the Hunter Cameo. Just a cameo. Having a big Spiderman villain as part of the movie would have taken over the show. But a cameo of either him turning the invite down or getting there too late. The other thing of course would have been for Blade show up too for a cameo. Maybe we'll get that in the future. As always enjoyed your reactions.

I think we'll see all three of the main characters (Elsa, Jack, Man-Thing) pop up in future MCU projects in some form or fashion. Of the three, I think Elsa has the best long-term potential in other stories; I could see her teaming up with Blade, as an antagonist for Agatha, as a member of the Midnight Sons, or really dropping in smoothly to basically any supernatural story. If I remember correctly, she had a character arc during Secret Wars. But I'm not sure they'll even try to fit her into that movie which will already be jam-packed with other stuff. Man-Thing probably would be 2nd on my list in terms of future appearances. There's quite a bit they could do with him, but I think those appearances would be considerably smaller than what we got here. More like a plot device for some other movie. Jack can work in other stuff just fine. Especially Midnight Sons. But I don't think we'll see him headlining again unless it's another Special Presentation sort of deal. Unfortunate, since I really loved Gael Garcia Bernal's performance in this. But I think the character has some limitations in terms of what Marvel likes to do with their movies and stuff. Could see him having guest appearances in random places though.

It's easy to forget the supernatural/ horror element that is also in the MARVEL comics. Most of the heroes and heroines are explained through either science/technology or genetics. Despite the new delay with the new BLADE movie, the supernatural elements are slowly but surely entering the MCU. It's just a matter of time when we see Jack, Ted, and Elsa team up again with new allies such as Frankenstein's Monster, the Living Mummy, Ghost Rider and Blade among others to fight against the likes of Dracula and Mephisto. The Midnight Sons shall unite. We just don't know when.

It made me miss Grimm, another show about monsters I loved. Grimm being what it was sets up a precedent for the good monsters/bad monsters, buddy series. Marvel has so much to work on now, but hey - if any of the Grimm writing staff is still around I'm sure Marvel could get a series out of it considering how few episodes their series have.

I smell Marvel setting up the Midnight Sons. A group of dark characters who deal with the occult and evil monsters. We'll see Werewolf By Night again. What's funny is that our kids already know these new characters through Marvel's own cartoon series on KZbin called Marvel Rising years in advance. Werewolf By Night, Moon Knight and She Hulk have all had episodes. Their cartoon channel is Marvel HQ. All with Hollywood actors voicing the characters in a very high quality cartoon series. We're the ones getting caught up, not them and us

Oh we totally agree that it doesn’t make sense for them to make this a limited run. Wendy read it somewhere online and wanted to share that info in the video just in case there’s any truth to it. This movie is so good and we hope everyone gets a chance chance to watch it.

@@TheMovieCouple If anyone mentioned "limited run", I'm guessing they were just talking bout it being a one-off single show. Not a series like all the other D+ stuff.
@equusfemina12 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I’ve literally not heard or read that take ANYWHERE else. I’m not doubting you, of course, just not sure where Wendy saw it? You’re “reporting” something that simply is not true…and I’m thinking you must be mistaken. If I’m wrong I’ll gladly eat my own words, but, the special is still streaming and being openly promoted on Disney+ as I’m typing these words, today October 17th, 10 days post-release…so... “Limited” in this instance simply means it was a one-shot story. It’s a way to discourage fans from expecting an immediate follow up “sequel” or further “episodes.” Period. 🤷♀️
