This was definitely a breathe of fresh air from marvel. I think the reason why this was shot in black and white was to pay homage to the original wolfman right down to the design and also so that they could get away with as much bloody violence as they could. Also there was a Man-thing film made in 2005 it’s completely different from the Man-thing you know now, it’s available on KZbin.

I’d like to see Werewolf, Man-Thing, Elsa Bloodstone, Blade, Moon Knight, Agatha Harkness, & Black Knight in a Midnight Sons movie. When someone gets killed off, you can add Ghost Rider, Nightcrawler, or Magik to the mix down the line. Have them go up against someone powerful like the Scarlet Witch, Nightmare, or Mephisto. Wong could be a guiding figurehead like in the comics. It’d be dope if they could make it an R-rated horror flick. A mature section of mystical/supernatural anti-heroes would be money.

I didnt even know this existed until yesterday. Its so cool to see Man-Thing and Werewolf by Night in live action and done so well. As a kid I read both of their original series (his and both of Swamp-Thing's 1st two short-lived series) on and off and enjoyed the depth of character and action. And never missed any other series issues guest-starring them. I actually thought they'd have had their own shows or at least guest-star episodes back in tne 70s already. Even Ulysses Blood was a cool throwback since I saw a few B&W magazine issues of his back when he was a Fabio-looking hunter with a shotgun, I think; though shame to see him just a dead corpse and on the bad side of this. Still, this was great; well acted and directed and filmed. I wonder if they'll ever let These two, Morbius and Ghost Rider team-up like they did back then? I'd pay to see that.

This was a badass Marvel Studios special that was also excellent, brutal, and creepy. I liked King Kong (1933), The Wolf Man (1941), Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Poltergeist (1982), and the Twilight Zone influences in Werewolf By Night. I also admired Jack Russell and Ted" Sallis' friendship. Michael Giacchino brilliantly directed and composed this special. Jack and Elsa have fantastic chemistry. Characters such as Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, and Man-Thing are all fantastic. The deaths in this special were fantastic. The transition from black and white to color was superb.

Such a cool special, we def' want more. Man Thing is a great Marvel character, "Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch!" & fyi, his comic originally came out 2 months before DC's Swamp Thing, both are scientists who get mutated in swamps... lol Also, Michael Giacchino is now involved with a remake of the classic 50's sci fi horror, 'Them', about gigantic radioactive ants, which should be great if this film is anything to go by. 👍

During the 1950's-1970's "Monster" comic books were a big thing in Marvel and DC. Superheroes were almost banned during the US 1950s Communist scare. They were thought to be groomer material. This lessened as time went on. But outright monsters like Morbius, Man-Thing, Groot, Frankenstein Monster, Dracula, Ghost Rider, Werewolf By Night, a Mummy, Damien Hellstromme and others had successful titles.

Man-Thing origin: In the comics, Dr. Ted Salis was trying to recreate the Super Soldier formula and succeeded. But he had been hired by HYDRA's science allies A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics). Chased into the Florida swamps, he injected himself with the only sample to prevent AIM getting it, but was shot and killed. The formula along with Ted, the swamp, and some Dr Strange magic gateway stuff transformed him into the nearly mindless Man-Thing.

Most people will have a hard time understanding this side of Marvel. Werewolf by Night and the Bloodstone family are very old properties of Marvel. Man Thing (Ted) is also a very established character that has an important role in the multiverse saga in Marvel. They play on the idea of who are the true monsters and if they decide to expand it will be interesting to see if it catches on with people. This was a great job by the director to choose this style to present the horror element. It would be hard to explain everything but Man Thing is actually a human and not a "monster". His current form is because of a failed super soldier serum Ted was working on. I hope they continue this outside of the special.

Ahem... 1st greetings to Le Host of this lovely channel! 2nd, WE GOT MONSTERS IN THE MULTIVERSE!!!! YES! BUT Man-Thing just might be a bridge to the Mutant Outbreak lol but reason being is he is the guardian of the nexus to all realities.....I think he has connections to the M'Kraan Crystal......

16:34 - I like to think that the grunts it makes are the syllables of the words he's saying. In this case, he's saying "Jack?" or "Where'd..." and "Thank you." 17:26 - "What? No... no, _I_ do." "Yes I do..." 17:18 - Also, did anyone else notice that based on the coloring that looks like an exposed brain on his head? So the reason he's called "Ted" might be that he was once human and was cursed/experimented into his current form, which is pretty messed up and tragic if you think about it.

What an unexpected delight this proved to be. :) Remember, when you stare into the void, the void stares back into you, and those who hunt dragons become dragons, themselves. There's very little difference between monsters, and those who hunt them. You should check out the TV series, Supernatural. it might be a bit much to react to, though. It's the longest-running genre series, in television history. Supernatural ran 15 seasons. In addition to the superhero comics that everybody knows, Marvel has a long-running line of horror comics that has been around since the 1960s. The title, "Werewolf by Night," was one of the flagships of the horror line, and Moon Knight and Blade were both introduced in it, and I think Man-Thing might have been, also. (Fun fact: The guy who created Man-Thing for Marvel, and the guy who created Swamp-Thing for DC, were roommates at university. The one who went to work for Marvel created Man-Thing a month or two before his old buddy created Swamp-Thing for DC, although Swamp-Thing is the better-known, of the two.) Without going into spoiler territory, I can say that Man-Thing ("Ted") has relevance to the Marvel multiverse story-line, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him show up, in one or more films. 😃

The only bad thing about this special was how bad it made GoTG Holiday Special look. I mean.... this was better than most Marvel movies, so my expectations were high.

Werewolf by Night comics were peak 70's telenovela high camp occult drama. Like Dark Shadows with a disco overlay. Making it a new thing, it was great to see Marvel deftly create a parallel for human bigotry with the hunters. That payed a lot of homage to classic Universal monsters where the monsters were often the tragic anti hero. I'm really hoping Ted and Jack tie in with Blade even a little.

I urge you to do a reaction video of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special while it's still the holiday season. I can assure you, it doesn't directly tie in with anything in the MCU more recent than Thor: Love & Thunder, which you've already done a reaction video on. It's perfect for the holidays.

Please give Ms. Marvel a chance. I know you've said you don't like teen dramas, but this show is honestly not how you think it is. This is more superhero-y like all the versions of Spider-Man you've seen which happen to be in a teen setting. At least check out the first 2 episodes before making assumptions about how the show is done

I hope we get a version of Damnation Hell in Vegas. We are getting Scarlett Spider in Across the Spider-verse so we would have all the characters in MCU
