I've just finished my first year in a film school, I study directing, and I think I can say that I find it useful. I feel like there are a lot of things (mostly in theory and history) that we would not get to know if we were not studying it. Yes, you can read books but it is not the same. And the other thing is that you get to meet other amazing people with whom you can work with, and get the hang of everything. I feel like this is what film school does, gets film makers together, produces their films and gets them started in this industry.
@300MediaProductions6 жыл бұрын
To be fair though, because of the internet, you could just as easily meet people interested in filmmaking and collaborate on films. Equipment is relatively cheap these days. Plus, you wouldn't have to spend money are tuition. There are certain benefits to film school, but I don't think any of its attributes are wholly unique to it.
