I had to come back and re=watch this after your reference to it in #131 and it's every bit as exciting as the first time - I never tire of seeing the whale surface again. :-)

I hate to say it but I think that you may be missing out on a golden opportunity ! With the borders being closed in so many of the south pacific nations , buddy boating to Hawaii might have been a Grrrr888 opportunity to " stage up " to either go south if travel restrictions ease up or north to southeast Alaska and the Canadian inside passage cruising grounds !!! Up in Southeast Aalska you will not only see pods of up to 10 humpback whales "bubble netting" herring at once but also be able to see the glaciers in Glacier Bay before they are gone !!! And then perhaps by then those countries in the south pacific may have re opened ? Not to mention that the salmon and halibut fishing is off the charts crazy good !!! We're talking potentially 40+ lb salmon and 300 + lb halibut and let's not forget the King crab !!! It'sa yummy destination !!! Cruisers paradise !!!

Very cool, now you have me stuck again in my decision of a cat or a big mono hull, I was surprised how long and thin the blue whale was...amazing. I would think Mexico with its arid climate would be a great place to store the boat as far a black mold and lizard poop when you return, best of luck.

Erica you could get an Oscar for this story just like the guy in Capetown did with the Movie my teacher the octopus. They are such fascinating creatures. If you haven seen the movies it’s a must to watch

I don't understand why y'all don't have more likes with this awesome whale footage. At this time 769 views and only 105 likes. What's wrong with viewers not hitting the like button I see this happen on so many good channels such a small percentage of viewers hit the like button... Yes it does upset me it's the least a viewer could do hit the or if they don't like it then whatever... I'm overly happy for you kids getting to see that and your new adventures to come. Much love and prayers be blessed in Jesus name.... BBE...

Great video and fun plans. Why did you decide to join your friends on their boat instead of buddy boating with them?
@tookthered17003 жыл бұрын
Hello Guys me and my wife really enjoy the videos you two put out. You mentioned going to San Carlos to haul out, can you haul out in marina San Carlos? Or do you have to haul and store at marina Guaymas? Me and my wife are in the final year before we take off on our similar sailing adventure and I have be trying to gather as much info as I can about Baja and the Sea of Cortez as we plan on at least our first two seasons spent there on a multihull (25’ beam) so haul out info would be helpful. Best wishes Gary & Ena
@WEsail3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys super excited for your next adventure. We had to haul out in Guaymas because of how fat we are but I think you’re both size you would be able to haul out at the marina Secca in San Carlos. If you contact Marina San Carlos they might be able to let you know if you can haul out there.
@tookthered17003 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply I think our beam is wider than yours we are 25 feet wide that’s why I figured Guaymas was the only choice. Do you guys like the yard there?
@tookthered17003 жыл бұрын
42 foot length 25 feet wide catamaran
@WEsail3 жыл бұрын
Ahhh okay well yes Guayamas is your best bet. The yard is dirt so the main concern is how dirty it gets while it’s on the hard. Otherwise the travel lift is big enough and it’s rather affordable there.
@kirk96713 жыл бұрын
Why did you decide not to sail your boat to hawaii? Can you get to the south pacific from there? (My concern where to put the boat in hawaii)
@WEsail3 жыл бұрын
We would have loved too but our main reason was because we are a US registered vessel and have not brought the boat into US territory yet, and therefore would have had to pay the import taxes which we didn’t want to do. And sailing a big monohaul sounded fun!
@kirk96713 жыл бұрын
@@WEsail import tax.... New area of research. Thanks.

Why didn't you sail your own boat to Hawaii ? You can sail down to Tahiti from Hawaii and the rest of the south Pacific on to Australia and New Zealand ! I think your friendship with wolfhound will go down hill !

These whales are so beautiful and graceful hard to understand how they are still being killed 😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬in
@js7127 Жыл бұрын
Love you all but interesting after all your pointing out how others should keep their distance from the whales as soon as they surface Warren is going full motor ahead to get a closer shot. Bad form and have seen it on other whale and dolphin encounters. Don't be those people.....
@WEsail Жыл бұрын
Good point good point, one thing to note is this: I think that the only time I motored at any speed is when the whale surfaced fairly far away, and I would slow down or turn away once we got a bit closer, while still remaining a comfortable distance from the whale, but again you’re right, they should never be chased

Why are chasing and harassing this whale?
@daveholley21563 жыл бұрын
Wayne and Sheila Recker : By law they must stay minimum 300' away and it appears they did at least that ! If you see a deer,a squirrel, an armadillo and you take a picture with your telescopic lens are you "harassing" them ? If so the Audobon Society needs to be abolished ! Go out in your backyard and Hug Tree !
@poolraider72113 жыл бұрын
When did you see them close enough to cause any "harassment"? There are legal restrictions to distances of ships to sighted whales, all they seemed to do was fly the drone to get a better view. Besides that the whale had infinite options for escape to anywhere within the depths of the water. If it didn't want them there it would not have stayed.
