These chats with Albert are so entertaining and always informative. You guys have such a great rapport, even though you are coming from different background, lifestyles and even ages. I am closer to his age than yours...it is so refreshing to see a guy our age staying sharp, buying quality goods and actually caring about his appearance. SO many guys my age seem to have given up on looking their best. It's encouraging to know that we can look good, without trying to look "hip" or 30 years younger.

An obvious but important point: it's hard to get these boots to fit properly across the arch because you can't adjust the fit with laces. I custom ordered a pair of Wesco Morrison, which is the engineer minus the strap, for $800. The right boot was too loose, the left too tight. I followed the break-in instructions to a "t" but I couldn't wear the left boot for even 45 minutes without being in so much pain I could barely walk across the room. Plus I felt like I was standing on the edge of a curb with the bottom of my left foot. I paid to have them sent back to Wesco. 30 days later the left boot came back stretched out so much that it is now way too loose. I have not been able to use them and am out the $800. With engineer boots, don't go custom. Only try on premade boots and if they don't fit pretty much spot on, don't buy them. Avoid making the expensive mistake I did.

Thanks for speaking out and touching on all the good aspects of our country and people. After your first video with Albert, I started following him. Absolutely the nicest guy I've ever chatted with. I just found out about your channel and been enjoying most of your content lately! As an Indonesian I was always fascinated on American heritage style. My family always owned a Harley, me and my dad still hunting for vintage Harley to this day, and lately through channel like yours and Stridewise, I just found out that Indonesia have lots of great bootmaker that makes American heritage style boots. So yes good or bad, American culture really brought up lots of good stuff internationally 👍

This only the second video I've watched from this channel, both with this guest... I'm a blue collar guy with some flair and live in "workwear". I own a pair of the WESCO Boss boots, purchased at the Von Dutch Store that was on Melrose here in LA back in 1999. Had them resoled a few times, then rebuilt after a bad motorcycle accident where they saved my foot from being pulverized - It was a T-bone accident where the car ran a red light and hit me there on my right foot, the frame of the bike was bent right were my foot sat on the peg. I would never ride without these boots on. I stopped riding in 2010 after another accident where I broke both wrists so these boots have just been sitting in the closet - I just took them out, so I'll be oiling them up later. I have to mention that I transitioned to barefoot boots (I have Chris at Broadwinger boots make them for me - You NEED to check them out) so my feet have widened which means I may no longer really be able to wear these WESCO's much but I still love them. At 57 with a grey beard I'm thinking in the coming years I'll maybe be a SANTA for Christmas parties and I'll wear the WESCO's then :D

This guys Wesco collection is probably my future self lol. I had the boss western toe custom made. Took 9 months but I got them in April this year and they are the best boots ever. Definitely still breaking in and were hard to get in and out of for a while, but its starting to ease up and they just feel better every time I wear them. Only thing I'm not in love with is that I screwed up and requested a 14 inch shaft height... They ended up much taller than i expected but that's completely my fault and I'll probably have them cut down at least 2 inches in the future.

Last year I bought my first brown horse hide mister Lou’s, then got the blacks and finally got the toscanello horse rump Lou’s earlier this year, still waiting on that last pair. It’s a damn addiction lol 😂. Tempted on some Role Club engineers, but the lead time is insane!

The JK boots amazed me at the workers skill in their strong quality construction. Even at £500 or more they are worth the money and we'll worth the extra £160 or so more than you pay for a pair of Redwings. I can see you guys appreciate great quality work and construction. Only sandals made with car tyres for the sole from Peshawar Pakistan lasted and cost £2.50 at the time and some army surplus ex German army para boots.

Aero leathers horsehide motorcycle jacket was an expensive but but at £750 for a bespoke jacket so well made is a good price even at that. It's better than Schott and just like those originals from the 1950s. I love the old classic American styles and I have an Amish waistcoat I've had 10 years and it's amazing quality, made to last a lifetime.

This was great! I somehow missed the earlier sit downs with Albert & will have to back track to watch them. These need to become a staple to the channel. By the way, the wife and I made a trip down to Nashville last month and I picked up my first pair of Tecovas. I wanted to wait until I could physically try them on in store. So, I picked up the “Roy” in Granite Suede and am also on the waiting list for the “Nick”. I also picked up the Denim Pearl Snap shirt in the Coriander color. I then had to have a hat and picked up a Stetson Trailblazer in the Acorn color. Let me just say that the Tecovas customer service at the Nashville store was top notch!

Great episode Carl, I've been waiting for this one! Albert is such a great guy, it's always a pleasure when you have him on. Though I have not met Albert, we have exchanged a couple messages on IG and I cant say enough good things about him just from those brief DM encounters..Totally agree with you guys on the state of affairs in the intro.. Anyway, the parrallel lines, I bought my first pair of black Carolina Engineers on 8th St, NYC back in my "punk rock" days of the early 80's. Have recently gotten back into the engineers and happened to pick up the Wesco Boss at S&S in the British Tan. I have to say it is the most comfortable boot right out of the box that I own. That green Wesco from TJ w/ the christy wedge is fire! I'm hoping he does another pre-order for that one as I've looked high and lo to no avail for a wedge sole Wesco. One of these days I hope to order a pair of Kresote Parlor Skars, but its' a tough commit of 3 years when you are past 60 as I am..sigh.. Maybe Gabbard needs a separate senior citizens queue? LOL..

HI! I'm Matteo from Milan Italy. Gorgeous Mr Lou boots. I want to order a pair too but I'm extremely undecided about the size. Some say (including the factory) to cut half a size off, others don't on the Mr Lous due to the "MP" toe. My measurements are 10US (27.4cm) and foot circumference at the ball 11 inches, so wide. In Nicks boots I'm a 9.5F. What do you think about Wesco Mr. Lou? In all Red Wing moc toes I wear a size 10 and in all my boots I wear a 28.5 cm leather insole that fits perfectly. help!!! Thanks for the advices. Matteo

Hmm, you both must have good Wesco contact cause when I reach to them to ask if the toe were more squarish as in some pictures or round, I just had a simple "All of the Mister Lou boots are the same" answer... And after receiving, notice that the stitches are so uneven, that I tough they had a Picasso in their employees.

Hmm, good question! I think I'd probably make four items: A jacket, a shirt, pants, and possibly a bag of some sort. That would be the entire line, made as well as I possibly could, with natural materials that are designed to be serviced/maintained for decades. Probably made for the colder weather crowd, just because thats what I enjoy. I'd love to do that one day.

Interesting discussion. One thing I would suggest is you actually might want to have bullet points as Carl mentioned, just to give a little frame work to your discussions. Also, if you’re going to bring up politics, then please have a real discussion. Don’t just skirt around it. I really think Albert would be more open about his thoughts; Carl not so much.
