I love this episode! I actually have never been to Orchid island and I have heard it is beautiful but I have never been there. Need to share to my friends!! People in Taiwan may think Kenting is too touristic but it reminds me of Brighton in UK. But better. I love beach, sunshine and people there! They are chilled, crazy (in a good way)and friendly. Why not?! ❤️

Is Chishang the place with the famous tree from the Mr.Brown commercial? We took a break in the much welcome shadow of that tree when riding bikes from Hualien to Ruisui and onwards to Taitung a couple of years ago. The small roads 193 and 197 are perfect for cyclists: Hardly any traffic on weekdays and still plenty of space on the right shoulder of the road on the scooter lane. One of my favourites has to be section of the East Coast between Daren and Xu Hai. It has no roads, settlements or other traces of human activity apart from a hiking trail called the Alangyi Historic Trail. You have to hire a local indigenous guide for safety reasons to do a 4 to 5 hour walk - highly recommended. Make sure to check the weather report and take plenty of water however.

There's no such thing as Kaohsiung County. The whole administrative division is a city, just like Tainan, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung and Keelung. All of these are cities without counties.
