I downloaded this game I've only played a short bit but i feel comfortable saying this is the best 40k game release on mobile i find the mechanics simple enough as to not be overwhelming but with enough complexity to keep it fun i probably wouldn't have Know about it had it not been for the sponsor y'all need to play this fr also i love. My favourite part about the Sisters is that they hate Space Marines and see them as mutants. Contrast against the way almost everyone else sees the Astartes. And I love that. Especially since they actually love humanity and the Imperial Guard extremely, especially because their argument makes a lot a sense “is the Space Marines are so amazing and so beyond human, how come they fall to chaos just as easily as your regular human. Yes guardsmen do fall, but they are just ordinary men and women.” And that’s honestly a pretty fucking accurate argument.

To be fair, most people basically know nothing about the space marines other than what they have been told, even to the point where most have literally never seen one. The same cannot be said of the Sororitas in terms of how much actual exposure they have to the space marines. Also to be fair, it isn't much different than how the Emperor thought of them.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you realize that the Astartes are basically vastly inferior clones of the Emperor. Seing as all of them are implanted with a gene seed that originates from the Primarchs whom are the sons/clones of the Emperor.... the same Emperor whom the Sisters worship as a God against his own wishes. Every single Astartes is genetically related to the Emperor of Mankind.

That's kinda the beauty of 40k. You don't have to even be remotely interested in some aspects such as the table top games, or the miniatures, or the video games, or the books but the setting is so rich and full of depth and larger than life characters, interesting settings and deep lore, that there's bound to be something that appeals to almost everyone.

I love the sisters of battle especially the idea of them singing hymns in battle. My friend who joined a religious order had her sisters join her attending her father's funeral. When they processed his coffin out of the church the sisters sang a hymn in Latin. It was hauntingly beautiful and that song always comes to my mind when I imagine the Adeptus Soroietas fighting on the field of battle. Another KZbinr Baldemort does a video on the battle sisters and his opening short story also reflects the beauty of the battle hymns of the battle sisters and faith.

I just finished reading Mark of Faith because of this video. I thought for sure you were spoiling the whole book based on how climactic the battle sounded, but as you pointed out, all that was just the prologue before chapter one! So really, you were just making one heck of a sales pitch, and I can't thank you enough for it! I've been wanting to get into 40k lore for a while now, but with decades worth of writing, it can be overwhelming. However, new videos such as this one have popped up since the last time I tried to get into it, so I'm finally making the journey! I was hesitant to get into 40k for the longest time, mainly because there wasn't really a faction that I could ever see myself fitting into or liking that much. Starting from here though, I can safely say that 40k's becoming one of my favorite sci-fi settings to date. The Adepta Sororitas are so unbelievably cool for a setting that's largely populated with men, and I love the nerdy girl appreciation!

Sisters were my first choice when I first started decades ago but was so made fun of by other players that I reluctantly shelved the idea. The Tau came out very shortly later and I loved their (original) perspective and design, it felt a little Asian but also felt really familiar as a Native American. Turns out my choice would get me hated on anyways. RIP 🤷 I'm soooooo soooo happy the Sisters are finally getting the love and attention they deserve. Love their strong faith and French influences, it's just fascinating. Enjoy!

An interesting deep dive, especially for someone whom has just started W40K, with a Sororitas army. This dive makes me wonder about why the Emperor ended up using the Sororitas, when he originally didn't want to be worshiped. Perhaps, he is using them to counter the fact that the faith was established by someone who became tainted by chaos. Countering fallacy with faith. I was drawn to the faction due to the fact they were anti-psyker, and because they have a truly kick-arse pipe organ!

The soritas only existed after the emperor was entombed on the golden throne. The emperor never directly used them. But he has blessed some into becoming saints in order to combat chaos. But it is unknown if he did it willingly, or it happened due to the amount of warp power he was radiating made his own version of demons. Also, the fact they worship the emperor as a god is a great counter to chaos. As they can’t be corrupted. The emperor assumed it was lack of worship but in reality, it was the worship of another being that weakened chaos.

I suspect the sororitas have had some influence in their war gear from the blood Angel's. Sanguinius is basically the imperiums first saint. Angelic jump troops? Sanguinary guard, flamer addiction? Blood Angel's have an entire variant of predator dedicated to setting everything on fire. Blood Angel's are also the only chapter that's happily stock piled inferno pistols. The whole suicidal assault unit even echoes the blood Angel's death company. The sororitas probably have studied a lot of stuff that heavily references the great Angel's legion...

I love these long form "deep dive" type videos you do. Just throwing ideas out there, I would love to watch deep dives into specific space marine chapters, and perhaps other things like the Inquisition or specific battles/crusades/campaigns, xenos like the Aeldari. Maybe even things like the different type of worlds in the warhammer galaxy (hive worlds, daemon worlds, forge worlds etc..). Hey wes thx for the video, every video is an upgrade from the last one, im curious thou what the biggest difficulty for making this kind of long video ? And also your video are good for stories before sleep for my kid :)

Oh my gosh, there are so many difficulties! 😂 Well first and foremost, the biggest one is I do everything myself. Most people on KZbin with a similar amount of followers have hired on at least an editor. And it's not uncommon for them to have a script, writer, audio editor, etc etc. Something as simple as zooming in and out on every single picture in a video like this has to be done by hand and can take hours or even an entire day depending on the length of the video. The research as well takes an enormous amount of time. As even if it's something you are super well versed in, You have to fact check what you think you know over and over and over to make sure you get it right. Then there's everything surrounding the actual recording itself, I probably throw away five plus hours of bad takes to get an hour long video. My Brain goes faster than my mouth can keep up with which tends to make me talk really fast and I end up tripping over my words. I think it's an ADHD thing 😅. But I'll tell you what, when you finally hit post and you have a whole bunch of people tell you how much they appreciate all your hard work... Makes it all worth it and is a really great feeling. I never had that at any other job I've worked. Bosses never appreciate anything you do for them even if you went above and beyond. So I can't really put into words how truly grateful I am to everybody who watches my videos.

I absolutely adore this faction, and you provided a fantastic summary of their lore. I don't play the tabletop game, but I do watch tournaments from time to time in my local area. I remember this one guy who had a single Sister of Battle in his army in one tournament, and she was an absolute terror by herself. No strategy seemed to work against her! She was fast and powerful enough to mow down infantry, she was incredibly tough to kill, and if she did die, her death granted bonuses to remaining allied units. They really got them right in the tabletop game!

Wes this video was over an hour long and I blinked and it was over. I looked at my clock thinking oh cool I'll make dinner in a little bit, I'll pause the video so I have something to watch while I eat and next thing I know an hour just poofs away. Fantastic video my dude. While I knew a lot of what was said, I was so enamored by it and getting to hear someone else talk about it just made me smile the entire time. I love the Sisters of Battle, they are second only to the love I have for the Blood Angels. This video was a perfect example of why I love the Sister of Battle. They are so diverse from Executioner to Healer to Scholar. There is just something about Woman with a Sword cleaving a Daemon in two. I really love these long form deep dive videos and seeing you go from shorts into the big explanations has been nothing but a treat. You're easily one of my favorite War Hammer KZbinrs. Shit you're the reason I got back into War Hammer. When I found your shorts I was like these are amazing, the energy you brought to each of them. The level of detail and understanding you have and just your overall love of the medium along with your willingness to make these longer videos is just a treat as a viewer. I always look forward to your next video. I hope you never get board of making these videos.

41:00 ish ... Custodes aren't just elite soldiers tasked with guarding the Emperor. They are also elite artists, scholars, musicians, and most importantly, superior diplomats. Custodes have to be able to converse with the Emperor on any subject he could ever possibly address towards them. Custodes often were sent out to particular worlds or persons as messengers or relayers of information or artifacts directly from the Emperor. I view the choice to flip a group of impressive warriors with a gesture of goodwill, i.e. a short viewing of the Emperor on The Golden Throne, and end a bloody war against fanatics to be a tale of a Custodes flexing their superior abilities as a diplomat over flexing their demi-god like trigger fingers.

I forget what book, but a Guardsman described the Sisters of Battle as being tall, strong, well muscled and rather unattractive. Being both taller and stronger than an unenhanced human man even without power armor and possessing somewhat masculine facial features. The art is pretty misleading when it comes to what we should actually expect them to look like.. but pretty girls sell better. It has been speculated that while the Sisters aren't as enhanced as an Astartes, they may still receive gene enhancement therapy to give them borderline superhuman physiology. Something we know the Imperium is capable of and that an organization as influential as the Ecclesiarchy would have access to. So basically the Imperium has access to their own version of the Super Soldier Serum. So the Ecclesiarchy has an army of female peak-human soldiers whom are completely loyal to them, and all possessing near superhuman physiology. It would explain how they can stand up to Space Marines and Daemons in combat. It is the same for the Sisters of Silence whom are mentioned to have undergone alchemical biological enhancements and are not just regular women in power armor.

I'm sure that anabolic steroids and stuff like that are used among the adepta sororitas, but also among several guard regiments. Honestly, why not? I don't see why the sisters of battle would use more drugs than the guard. The reason the adepta sororita look different from normal imperial women (if we accept that they do), I think instead is because that's what you get when you select for warrior women. You're going to favour women who are taller, larger, and manlier. The best killers get to be soldiers on the front line, while the meek ones probably perform other duties in the ecclesiarchy.

I have to say that: thank you for all your videos. I never played the tabletop game, i discovered warhammer 40k with dawn of war years ago, and I never understood the lore, i just thought the game was neat. But thank to you i now can appreciate all the nuiances of the lore, like the God Emperor didn't want to people to be religious, or that "The Bible was written by Satan". Wait, where's the rest? I saw over an hour and was expecting it to feel like it. But that seemed really quick. No matter how many times I watch different W40K lore channels I always love hearing more from a different perspective. So thank you for continuing to make vids. Although I'd read Warhammer lore and stories that was my first audio book version of a black library story and it was so well written and well narrated that it helped me to convert to audio books. Camp followers have always been useful, regardless the Army. They cook, clean, mend and can handle limited logistics that most soldiers don't want to. They also know each other, and become known by the soldiers, so it is harder for someone to conceal themselves within your ranks by pretending to just be the cook. Unless, of course, that cook is really a pile of explosive left behind by Sly Marbo!

My personal take on thors decree was he felt he had to make a decree limiting the cult's power in the aftermath of the age of strife. But he also felt the cult needed a military, so he intentionally created that loophole. That way he could claim he gutted the cults military power but still allow the sisters to get off on a technicality.

These deep dives are so interesting and helpful as I’m only just beginning to learn more about 40k etc, only reading at the moment I’m on book 4 of the Horus heresy “Fulgrim “ I’m hooked on the books and characters are amazing I love some I hate some and that’s down to great stories and writing, just wondering after I’ve finished fulgrim I’m stuck as to which book to go to next.
