If you crank the gain on an overdrive pedal and turn the gain slightly down on the amp you should be able to get this tone.

The pickups are great and all, really,...but that DESTROYER!?!?!?! I have always wanted a Destroyer with 24 frets. That, the iceman, xiphos, and glaive should all come back to Ibanez' stable with both fixed and edge options.

I really want them to open a custom shop. Hopefully one day we can get the destroyer back. I reached out to them a few months ago and they said no plans for a destroyer comeback but they did say stay tuned for an Iceman. So that’s at least a start.

What a strange and awesome coincidence- currently I'm building an Ibanez destroyer in flat black- with a neck from a Gio GRGR131EX, and I just ordered a body from Perle guitars on ebay; with the only differences being- it'll be a single humbucker rout and hardtail bridge. I wish I could play more like you but I never practiced enough metal in my early years to develop like that. Now im 36 and been playing for 20 years and 31 guitars later and I find myself playing nylong string shit like skyrim soundtrack sorta stuff but you were always one of the guys I wish I would of sounded like. Guitar into amp (use a Yamaha THR10X like you did before :-), thats what I practice with now...killer) No mix. Its like when Ola would demo sht it was funny cos everything sounded identical, amps, mics, cabs, didnt matter. But then, the various picking techniques..palm muting chords..notes, open on both...you know.
