If you crank the gain on an overdrive pedal and turn the gain slightly down on the amp you should be able to get this tone.

The pickups are great and all, really,...but that DESTROYER!?!?!?! I have always wanted a Destroyer with 24 frets. That, the iceman, xiphos, and glaive should all come back to Ibanez' stable with both fixed and edge options.

What a strange and awesome coincidence- currently I'm building an Ibanez destroyer in flat black- with a neck from a Gio GRGR131EX, and I just ordered a body from Perle guitars on ebay; with the only differences being- it'll be a single humbucker rout and hardtail bridge. BTW - your arrangement of Layla is killer

@@WesHauchAlluvial Well since youre asking....Real pickup demos for me, should be dry as a bone. Guitar into amp (use a Yamaha THR10X like you did before :-), thats what I practice with now...killer) No mix. Its like when Ola would demo sht it was funny cos everything sounded identical, amps, mics, cabs, didnt matter. But then, the various picking techniques..palm muting chords..notes, open on both...you know.
