I love restoring torn up stuff and I literally fixed and made a completely crushed up trumpet that was folded kinked and bent look perfect again with no dents or anything and polished it to a brand new shine and looks brand new i made my own tools on the fly to fix it lol and it worked wish I would have found your videos would have helped me in making tools to do the restoration but I did it and it's perfectly in tune and aus and sounds amazing. It took me a month to restore it I'm also a welder and fabercator so making the tools I needed was easy and they look nothing like yours at all but works

Amazing job! I’m in Canada but have a rather nice trumpet that came upon bad times. So question one. It has red rot. Not sure what causes that or if it has a remedy but I was told it’s the end for a trumpet. But then this trumpet was in case and in the back of my vehicle when I offered to drive a few inebriated musicians home and it required fitting in people and repackjng to make room for instruments and this poor trumpet was left in the ground and run over. It is a Doc Severenson model made in Germany. I’m blanking on the official brand. The sturdy wood case stopped it from being flattened completely but the bell on this one looks similar albeit maybe with a crack or two and the main rod to the valves bent enough that the first one no longer works. I occasional put flowers in it at Christmas lol. Just want to confirm that it is truly dead or if has any hope of a miraculous rebirth. 😂 And I was ribbed pretty hard for being the one that technically was driving and therefore drive it over.

Well most of that repair is in key work and pads but occasionally cracks have to be repaired. You can search the channel and see some of those.
