An actual solution is to make schools protected with guards and open facilities and put the mentally ill people in safe places they can’t hurt people. Each and every killer in these situations had been reported on but there was no where to put them and no program to help them

Mr. Hunt, your observation of front line after front line of armed guards when entering the school in Texas was well taken. Some years ago, after a school shooting, the right proposed a bill that would allow schools to hire retired military or police officers that have been appropriately vetted to protect our children, and it was turned down by the left. I think this bill needs to be brought up again.

Remember a time when schools were regarded as "de-militarized" zones? Now people are talking about having armed guards on site to defend against a shooter who is usually a child who gun stores are more than eager to sell an AR to. When I was in High school we had two or three police officers stationed there that were armed and ready, doors were locked, and you didn’t go in or out of the school without them knowing about it. They were friendly, they were beyond caring about us, and earned almost every kids respect. I don’t understand why we can’t protect all of our schools like that.

Security guards, hell start with a lock on the door and maybe a ring doorbell so that people have to be buzzed in. Everybody has them on their home but I bet there are very few if any in schools.
