@@joeambrose3260 You're right, bowling has a scoring limit of 900 for 3 games. This limit has been reached, & now, several times. The more the limit is reached, the more lackluster it becomes. Sad in a way, especially for passionate bowlers as myself. Pre-bowling means a bowler bowls ahead of time for their next league session because they're unable to bowl during their actual league time for some reason or another. Many leagues allow pre-bowling in the league rules. Some leagues even allow post-bowling in their league rules, as long as the post-bowling session is completed before the next session of the next actual league time begins.

Handicap tournaments suck especially for the bowlers that don’t have any, I remember I was bowling a youth handicap tournament and I had no handicap, ended up shooting 760 and 730 scratch to make the cut to stepladder (730 was only in by 15 pins), and the first match, I had to beat the other bowler by 112 pins like wtf😂
@Krranski4 жыл бұрын
@@paulwest8185 I don't like those scenarios either. Sometimes handicaps are so great that a win or loss can seem to come down to luck. I understand why handicap tournaments exist and I understand why even elite players still bowl them, but a win in a handicap tournament feels a bit hollow to me. I prefer bowling scratch, even though it means I lose more frequently to an increased pool of elite bowlers. I think bowling still needs to grow at the competitive level and become more accessible (e.g. practice games at some centers are too expensive for those without a way around the normal price; plus, some older folks and people with various disabilities can't safely bowl when centers are doing "cosmic bowling" seemingly at all times except when leagues are occurring) in order for more scratch tournaments to eventually take place. The pandemic is also having a crippling effect on bowling right now and it will take some time to recover. But, bowing is trending upward and regardless of the reason, that's a good thing. I will always love bowling and I love to see more people enjoying it.
@LANESxNOWONLYx4 жыл бұрын
@@clammer23 Interesting! The 1989 invention of impregnating the surface of urethane bowls with reactive resin additives has certainly revolutionized the sport of bowling once again. As with the introduction of urethane balls in 1981, & short oil house patterns in 1987, the scores have, once again, increased dramatically! This time, stratospherically. 31 years later, the bowling balls are as hi-tech as ever, yet the sport seems to roll on. The steep drop in USBC membership since the 80's is staggering. Yet the sport is hanging in there. Many many bowling alleys have been shuttered since the 80's also. There is serious cause for concern about the future of bowling? The sport may be on the path of no return to it's past glory; however, let's not knell the death bell just yet. High school bowling is becoming more & more popular. Let's hope that trend continues, as they're the future!

Non-Sanctioned & during practice, bowling by himself. Still an impressive feat, even during practice. Guessing it was the typical house shot (THS). Personally have had many strings of strikes during practice. Usually don't keep score while practicing, as the purpose is continually refining technique while rolling a variety of balls & learning how to play many different angles & lines to the pocket. Have certainly strung more than 12 in a roll during practice on many occasions. As for 36 in a roll during practice? NOT QUITE!! Not taking anything away from Wesley Low, still impressive!!
