Crazy that renting in west Africa is such a struggle: 2 years!! In Uganda, you pay at the end of the month after you have already lived . Even if you don’t have the landlord will let you stay and pay when you get it .

That renting system in Ghana should be looked into by the rent control in Ghana,it makes it so hard for people who can't afford,some may say the government hasn't build any housing,but so it was when l was growing up in Ghana,and it is still so in most west African countries,it really makes it hard for the poor,something needs to be done one way or the other

East Africa has variety of foods to offer, like myself I don't consume ugali nor greens or nyama choma so often, maybe once a week, bcz am raised in the coastal part near Indian ocean not in the heart of east Africa, my meals are majorly from coconut delicacy or fries cooked with beans or meat, chicken or fish like shark's and flour variety such as chapatis, mahamris or soft carbs( mandazi )or served with rice, yams and much more, made or sold at homes.❤fromknya.

All the slaves were not brought to Ghana before traveling to America ; After Mauritania ,Benin republic is the second country in west africa and even Africa more affected by the ebony trade;before going to America they were brought to Senegal (Gorée which is an island;it was difficult for the slave to run away ) ;Apart from Nigeria ,East africa is more developped than West Africa; Real estate in Ghana is just crazy, the currency is too high and people are struggling because life is too expensive there ;by the way , Éwé is spoken only in Ghana and Togo and Mina is spoken in Togo and Benin

The Portuguese learned the concept of slave trade from East Africa when they landed there in 1500s, led by Vasco Dagama. Then they started capturing Africans from Congo , Mozambique, Angola to Brazil. The rest of Europe joined them because it was profitable.

Only in West Africa. For instance, I have lived in Kenya and South Africa, and I haven't seen use of palm oil or mixing of meats in one stew. So Kenyan cuisine isn't infact uniquely Kenyan.

@@maragolihistory2118 no South Sudanese are a lot more varied than people realize. The Zande for example, who are the third largest indigenous South Sudanese are Bantu. Depending on which Dinka sub group you are looking at, they maybe more closely related to the Kalenjin than the Luo. The Shilluk are closely related to the Luo. The Madi and Kuku are not to related to the Luo, they belong to what are known as the Sudanic groups.

@@theonly6359no we don’t all. Even in Kenya. Sukumawiki is a post colonial dish. Central Kenya do not traditionally eat ugali (pap) its again a post colonial dish for them. For those of us who ate ugali it wasn’t made from maize meal it was made using millet and sorghum sometimes with some ground cassava. We have no word for sukumawiki in my mother tongue yet obutsuma (ugali) is one of our staples and we eat tonnes of other vegetables. I’m not even going to get started on Ugandans’ relationship to both those dishes!

Silky question .most slaves came from West Africa and if you look at black Americans today you can clearly see it in their facial structure, stockiness etc And i aint even from East Africa 🙄 Having said the complexion among east and west africa is pretty mugh the same eg Ruto if i didn't know him i would say he is West African and woukdbt think he is Southern African. That's because different parts of Africa share the same african groups...eg people who look like Ethiopians are also found in North Africa,west africa and Central Africa...ruto comes from a group called nilotes...they are the majority in northern uganda and south sudan but I recently realised some nilotes seem to be west african....khoisan looking people are found in east and southern africa
