Phil, just wondered if you know the whereabouts of the old Christ Church school which I believe was somewhere at the top of Stoney Lane ,the front came out on New Street . I was there from age 5-7 then we moved to Yew Tree . When we lived in Tantany I have a vague memory of walking up Grafton Road past Lyndon laundry and turning right up there. I had an appointment at the hospital a few months ago, when I came out I got out of my car and had a walk round but there's nothing up there. It must have been knocked down many years ago. Around the turn of the 20th century ,I was reading in an Albion book some time ago, quite a number of Albion players were former pupils of this school.

Interesting question relating to the school. Sadly I have no personal recollection of Christ Church School. I understand that there was a school in New Street initially but was then relocated to a new site in Walsall Street right next to the old school. I believe some of the school backed onto or near to the Four Acres site which you can see on this video The school was closed in 1968 and was demolished when the Expressway was constructed on the very site it once stood. So that's the reason you cannot find any trace of it There are some notable names from that school you may remember; Miss Moss, Mr Carpenter, Mrs Thomas, Miss Cooper, Mr Gregory Hope this helps

@@awalkwithphil I'm from northern Ireland, but my mother and father split up in 1972, we got in contact again in 1995 , she was living on the Bilston road in Wednesbury, I started going over to see her and ended up supporting the Albion, my mother has passed away now 21 years, and due to ill health I haven't been over to a game since 2011, hope to try and make it over soon tho , your videos are well made and very interesting
