West Coast Classic Cougar Open House 2018 - Show, Cruise, and Prizes!

This was our best Open House ever! We had a great time meeting our customers and friends and hanging out for the weekend. We had a total of about 40-50 cars that cycled through, and upwards of 100 people. We also brought in several Cougar experts, who provided free advice and help to attendees. In addition, for the first time ever, we gave out door prizes - and they weren't just ordinary door prizes. Our inventory manager Cleve did a great job reaching out to suppliers and was able to secure a full set of Legendary Series wheels from Scott Drake, as well as an export brace and Cougar oval air cleaner, Distinctive Industries donated a full set of upholstery for the guy with the "worst interior", Catheadlights donated an electric headlight motor conversion, Cougars Unlimited donated multiple solid state sequential turn signal units... the list goes on and on. It was amazing and nobody saw it coming. Thanks again to all our suppliers!
Between the cruises, great food, great cars, and great people, we can't even begin to do the weekend justice, but maybe this video will help. Enjoy!

I am in Rochester NY and have to go to one of these gatherings. They look really fun, I just have to set this full over-the-country drive up with my lady, hotels and all, and take at least 10 days to sightsee along the way. Very nice show Don. Also, I went to Beaver Springs drag way two years ago to watch and last year I drove my 428cj 4-speed Cat to drag race.

My 16 year old daughter just bought her first car last week 1967 cougar 289 2bbl. 98k original miles. It runs very well on all original drivetrain The body is rusted, but everything is there: All the molding,and the trim and emblems, etc... We are going to make it nice. Itll be our last big father/daughter project before she’s off to college. It was great to find out about wccc. I’m sure we will be doing business over the next couple of years. And we will definitely come to one of you rallies.

After taking your advice and drilling a hole in the gas cap to prevent flooding, my issue isn't completely solved... I no longer have any pressure in the tank, but it still seems to flood after being turned off. If I wait for a good 10 minutes or so after turning the car off, I have to hold the accelerator down to start it. Any ideas?

My old ford truck does that and it's normal, on a hot restart the sticker above the sun visor says to depress the throttle half way. Hope that helps

Would you actually recommend drilling a hole in the gas cap? I am worried debris and/or water will get into the tank, but I would really like this pressure issue fixed. I ordered a cap from you guys, but no luck. Last resort is drilling a hole.

It works! Agreed that it's not ideal, but it does work. Your alternative is to find a NOS gas cap. They do pop up on eBay, search for the part number C7AZ-9030-A. Be advised that a NOS one will cost at least 10x as much as the repro...

We don't have a club, per se, but there are a lot of regional Cougar clubs around the country, as well as the Cougar Club of America. For online advice and discussion, we highly recommend classiccougarcommunity.com/forum - It's a Cougar forum run by enthusiasts and it's a great place to ask questions, post pictures of your project, etc. Hope that helps!
