Yes. Terry realized some time ago about that gear and it seems Round2 people learned about it and fixed it. I have that car and some older models. I checked and saw the teeth count is less and the separation is wider in the new axle gear.

The pick up shoe tends to lift off the brush barrel when the car is on the track. Any remedies for that?

Love this video dude! Such a shame the Super III got off to a bad start. This thing sounds amazing! You know I love me some Auto World cars! They have NAILED it on the paint scheme/bodies. This car right out of the box sounds awesome! I might consider buying some more Super III's if they start making some more bodies for them. Not a big Indy fan, BUT... the body looks great! Awesome video dude! Hope all is well!

Having been burned by the terrible QC on the Super 3 in the past, I laughed when I saw this on the shelf, assuming it was just some repackaging of some they found in the warehouse to foist upon us. Good to hear this is actually an improved product, I love these bodies. Frankly though they'd be best served calling this the Super 4 or something, the Super 3 has such a bad reputation now.

What voltage do you run these at? Also the adjustable barrel screws are a little tough to get just right I feel like. I have one and it runs ok. But certainly could be better

How do you adjust the shoes?

Hi Jersey Mike! You will need a piece of SETUP track which has an opening in it so that you can see the pickup shoes as they move along the rail. I got mine from VIPER. Happy Racing and God Bless!!

@@TRXperienced after you put the car on the setup track, I guess you just bend the shoes that the whole shoe touches the rail.... I’ll have to order a setup track. Thanks for the information.

Yes, bend the shoe so that the rail marks are the full length of the shoe. Your cars will run smoother and less wear on the shoe in one spot.

thx for a great video. I recently bought the AW Victory 400 set. The cars that come with, are Xtraction. For me they are fine but for my 4 grandkids they fall off the track so often since my grandkids press the speed control @ full throttle. Yesterday I rcvd 2 AW Super iii & they stick to the track much more. I noticed the Super iii cars have more magnets. Do you think that magnets can be upgraded to Xtraction cars to stick to the track more. Also how do I adjust the shoes of these AW cars to stay on the track more. Perhaps better tires are needed

Great review and nice track! What did you use to do the lane colors on your track? I may have to give the Super III a try though I was never a fan anything Auto World and don't know that I need yet another chassis in my collection. Thanks for the video.

Super 3. Scary stuff. It either doesn’t work or won’t work for long. Very few good examples out there. How can the new chassis be identified?

Marc, thank you for the Review, but I think you did it too soon. You took it out of the package and ran it only a handfull of laps. I'm surprised you didn't oil it up then warm it up & break it in maybe for at least a minute. (You don't have to show that on video. But some may be interested to hear the gain you will achieve.) Then show the adjustments & tuning the car needs. The very important brush-barrel's adjustment (what size Phillips screw driver and how to get to it under the glue), the narrowing of the extended front wheels to keep from riding up the guardrail in the corners, pickup shoe adjustment, etc. Also, what years are you talking about w/ the different releases of the Super III's? So, we know the difference and what packaging is the new version? I have several of the new Super III's. Much better quality than most of the X-Traction's tooling/chassis. So, please put a little time in the car and test + tune then do the Review. Like you, I love this hobby too. Started in 1972 as an 8 year old as well 🙂 Look forward to your next Review. - Chris
