Koa & Treasure are now 71 days old and Sterling is 68 days old. The eaglets are really beginning to practice their wingercising and hops now - getting air as they jump across the nest. The eaglets will continue to wingercise and jump up in the air in the next couple of weeks going up higher and higher into a hover. From the time they start to hover, we can expect a fledge fairly soon! The nest is 200 feet above sea level but only ten feet from the ground.
The video opens with Thunder and Akecheta both perched on the Tor looking out over their territory. Thunder will fly off and Akecheta will a few minutes later. Then we have the triplets exercising their wings and as they take turns flapping across the nest. Get ready for some heart pounding moments with these three eaglets as they discover how powerful their wings are! Thank you for watching!

This eagle pair is a success story, part of a bald eagle restoration program started by the Institute for Wildlife Studies in 1980. Their nest has been active since 1991 and has been streaming live since 2005.
The West End Bald Eagle Cam is made possible through an educational partnership between Institute for Wildlife Studies, Montrose Settlements Program, Santa Catalina Island Conservancy, and Explore.org.
