"Ent?" sounds like a contracted form of "ain't it?" "Ain't it" --> "Ain't" --> "Ent" "Pon" ("pon de road") is contracting of "upon" with the u dropped altogether. Caribbean creole is mostly about contractions for greater efficiency of words - say as much as you can with as few syllables as possible. Why say "where are you?" (3 syllables) when you could more easily say: "Weh yuh?" (2 syllables)

Quite surprised that he knew that fact that trinidadians make fun of the other countries and vice versa usually they don't tell you that esp if you're new to the country

Adding "Nah" after asking someone do do something for you (even though you haven't changed your mind)
