We drop too many catches, our fielding is way below average just like our batting. The only thing good about our test team is our bowling, it looks exciting when our bowlers are on song.

Don't be surprised about drop catches. I think that it was in the 70's west indies dropped a catch against India and the player went on to make 212. at Sabina Park. Sobers was the captain at the time.

Think it was against Australia. I wasn’t around then but I have heard my dad with a similar story before. If I am not mistaken, it was one of the Waugh brothers.

@@evonjohnson4078 when fielding in the slip you have to be sharp as a pin expect the balls to come at you as fast as a bullet. You have to be ready at any given time

Now you understand how Alzarri felt why he walked off the field. But it’s sad to see these drop catches. The head coach needed to MAKE them practice catching at least 1000 balls before they retired for the evening.

I still cannot condone that behavior . He himself knew he was wrong, hence why he apologized. We should not used this situation to justify a mistake that Alzarri made.

A theory to consider. Our catching is very poor. It makes sense why we struggle. At international level technique is not everything but physical attributes. Rxn time hand eye coordination. Without those natural attributes technique will only take you so far and the reverse is true. Natural attributes without technique will only take you so far. It makes sense to me now why wicket keeps excell at regional level. And in some cases international once they have exposure to good training. Further if we pick these guys on batting alone we might have a better team.
