in this video i try to power up parts of the bunker with my custom made power inverter and items in the bunker, the bunker is in very poor condition do not try at home 😂

Below the garden of what was originally an Edwardian family residence in sedate Meadow Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, lies a Cold War bunker. Constructed in 1954 to be used by up to 80 civil defence bureaucrats in the event of nuclear war, the extensive facility is a single-storey structure in concrete, with steps down from one entrance and up to two fire exits
At points during the 1990s the bunker was reportedly used for raves. It was at some juncture converted by the owners into a social club, complete with bar, pool table, band practice room, and skittles alley, originally the main corridor
The bunker could produce its own power, using diesel engines and generating sets, and had its own store of water. Never used for its intended purpose, in 1956 the space provided temporary shelter to refugees who had fled the Hungarian Uprising
The bunker, was sold by Sandwell Metropolitan Council, for the West Midlands Fire and Civil Defence Authority, in 1990. The council made it a rather insane condition of the sale that, if nuclear war had not broken out by 2003, the bunker was to be demolished
The naivety of those 'preparing' for nuclear war is illustrated by the fact that the bunker lies downhill from a large reservoir, damage to which would have flooded the secure site. Ironically, it was fire, in the form of arson, that ultimately did for something that would supposedly survive a nuclear attack

@@kevinboy1 the start up capacitor where completey shouted in some light 🤣 no surprise tho the heat of the fire must of baked them and then sat for years in a wet environment, the wiring must of had bad insulation aswell being wires from 1960s time 😂

I knows you knows what you're doing but God forbid that one day you casually flick the latest rocker lightswitch or other bits of things; only this time the age, state and sudden rush of power to the lamp's filament, the damp, the flooded floors, the this that n the other, plus Sod's Law does you an injury or does you in. A plain ol' bit of stick/broom handle will mean that you can carry on boiling bulb bug stew to your heart's content! And we get to carry on too.

@@KIRBZVIDS Yeah those old TVs and lab monitors are fun to mess with in the dark. AND DRY. I'm only banging on a bit cos my bosses best mate had his guts blown out when they were both renewing cables in the road for the LEB. Someone switched off the wrong circuit. Simple little, bloody great mistake... Bosses mate took ten days to die too.

@@JP_TaVeryMuch sorry to hear that the power inwas using was isolated no ark risk as the power is coming from a power inverter not the actual mains power, the mains power has been cut off for donkys years would of been 415v 3 phase and single phase split from L1 and ground

With the fire damage and in some areas water damage (From the firemen i'm guessing?) I bet half the rings are totally cooked in the conduits

I think a ring tester would have shock in there 😂 and yh the fire was started in the coms/exchange room equipment room and also the ventilation is backfilled and emgerncy exit is also back filled so the place has no air flow down there and is all damp
