Oh happy days !! My first job on BR was checker, Dorridge in 73. I used to assist with scotching the cartic fours an private owner carflats for MAT. Back then they did not have the screens on. They came about after many lineside stone throwing incidents, smashing glass usually but body damage too. And the Didcot Dusties!! Don't get caught lineside as they pass, it's like being shot with a machine gun 🤣🤣

Cheers Dave. In order Lea Marston just north of Water Orton on the main line looking in both directions, Tamworth high level and low level, Garringtons Bromsgrove, and finally Bescot.
