Actually the person who said that the class 37 couldn’t or probably was to weak to pull the 60 and unloaded metals up the incline is probably wrong because that’s a 37/7 and along with the 37/8 and 37/9s they were the most powerful in-fact they were the same power as the 56s and 58s they were the modified versions they had tractive effort of 62.000 lb and weighed 120 tons so yeah that 37/7 could of defo hauled that train by itself

Looks like the 47 is helping out the power cars was there a mechanical problem with the hsts or was it they need help to get up the lickey incline

@stevejohnston2138 >>> Time you got your things together & moved into a green house & stayed there forever if you don't like it. See all that burned up fuel most is carbon, we live a carbon based planet sorry to break it to you & trees + plants benefit from our existence too. Your UN/WEF/EU Global warming false hood..... not proven yet aka your full of sh*t!. While we common sense people get on with normal life that includes HD power plants with HIGH OUTPUT diesel engines keeping the economy going. Electric traction.... where does the electric come from ? Mostly hydrocarbons: Has it's limits where as diesel traction is much more flexible departing from the weight rating class ??? (track carry weight) You'd be up in arms if you saw a class 37/9 - slugs climb the same hill...... BRING ON THE CLAG!!!!!! MORE CLAG!!!!!!!! MORE SMOKY THE BETTER!!!!!!!!

Bouncing Choppers on Nuke waste . Did those 92s still have 3rd rail shoes fitted. Thunderbirds seemed alot busier than these days. The one at Crewe barely moves . 😀😀👍😎😎😎

Alot more 37s working than I remember. It was mostly 31s and 20s when we were spotting . Gargoyles and Choppers . We certainly burnt alot of coal back then, never gave all the Mgr trains a thought. Except for ' what was on the front ' lol. Another little gem of how busy Bescot used to be. Eagerly awaiting the next video. Big thanks for taking the time to upload and share . 👍👍😀😎😎😎

Great comment, thanks for taking the time. Next upload may take a while - my laptop crashed and the one I'm " borrowing" hasn't got a DVD player. I'm slowly working my back through time though so there should be more 20s, 31s and 37s to come !

Oh happy days !! My first job on BR was checker, Dorridge in 73. I used to assist with scotching the cartic fours an private owner carflats for MAT. Back then they did not have the screens on. They came about after many lineside stone throwing incidents, smashing glass usually but body damage too. And the Didcot Dusties!! Don't get caught lineside as they pass, it's like being shot with a machine gun 🤣🤣

Cracking little shot. So that's what my dad looked like. He Fired many trains, Shrewsbury to Paddington. Life got easier with the Diesel era, a Fireman with no Fire , lol. Just a pair of feet up in the front window. Joy riding the rails as a 2nd Man . 😁👍👍😎

Lol, 426 Vale of Rheiddol changed her name to Mt Vesuvius..... I thought it was 428 David Lloyd George that was prone to going bang.
