You can apply to one of the prep schools where they help candidates in the same situation as you.

You can’t apply directly to the prep school; it is determined by USMA staff if you are a candidate for prep from your West Point application. West Point is looking for Academics, Leadership, and Athleticism.

jeremy debraccio You can enlist into the national guard or active duty/reserve and apply to Westpoint through there. It is almost guaranteed that you’ll be accepted into atleast the prep school.

When Congress voted to admit women to our service academies in 1975 it was done in the name of equal opportunity, yet every responsible and informed legislator knew that the function of the academies is to produce hardcore elite combat leaders. Thus, either an academy education would be wasted, because women were then still barred from combat, or the rules would have to be changed before these women entered upon their military careers beyond the academies.
