Awesome review! I remembered watching this movie years ago, but I don't remember much about the movie. Guess I'll have to rewatch it again!

Thanks, Ronyell! Curious to hear what you think of it when you give it a rewatch.

I mainly disagree with you. I think this movie holds up very well and I very much liked how it was “stagey” and I thought the story is very well done too! With that being said I enjoyed your review and breakdown of the film. 👍🏻

Thanks! That's no problem at all, I know there are a ton of people who like this movie a whole lot more than I do. I'm curious, is this one that you grew up watching/liking or did you not see it until you were already an adult?

The fact that you just called a film that won a record-breaking 10 Oscars "mediocre" is laughable.

I review this film and explain my thoughts in depth for nearly 13 minutes here. I suggest you actually watch the review rather than getting hyperfixated and upset over a single word used in the span of that review. Film is a very subjective art form and Oscars and other awards are not indicative of that highly individual quality in any way. The fact that you think they are is the only laughable thing in this situation. Happy holidays!

GREASE is a HORRIBLE MOVIE!!!!! Popular, yes but my God, GREASE??? 18 year olds played by 30-Somethings in a horribly static film.

This girls review, LMAO................I saw West Side Story when I was 10 in 1968 and it was incredible. then and every time I've seen it since. What do other critiques say, humm Critical response: West Side Story is regarded as one of the greatest musical films ever made. It holds a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 116 reviews, with an average rating of 8.4/10. The site's critical consensus states: "Buoyed by Robert Wise's dazzling direction, Leonard Bernstein's score, and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics, West Side Story remains perhaps the most iconic of all the Shakespeare adaptations to visit the big screen". Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 86 out of 100, based on 17 critics, indicating "universal acclaim" West Side Story won 10 Academy Awards, making it the musical film with the most Oscar wins (including Best Picture). It was the first film to share the Academy Award for Best Director between two people, with Wise winning in the Best Picture and Best Director categories. nuff said 😎

@@MainelyMovies I have no issues, nice to see you aren't thin-skinned or have problems with criticism and opinions that vary from your own 😊. Perhaps you should add somewhere that only opinions that agree with me are accepted otherwise............. my self esteem .........

@lanagorgeous9485 Your opinion of the film is not at all the issue here, which is why I said I was glad you enjoyed the movie, as did I. It was the rest of your bizarre behavior that was troubling. If you had written why you personally like the film, we could have had a discussion about the movie. But watching a positively rated review of a film you enjoy and then blindly quoting a littany of aggregate website pull quotes that also are positive towards the film as if that is showing me up is absolutely not normal behavior. Perhaps for a child, but certainly not for a 66 year old adult. If you wish to discuss the film like a normal person, I would be more than happy to, especially since we both enjoy the movie. But if your initial post is indicative of your typical behavior, I kindly ask you to leave and not waste anymore of either of our time on this or any other of my reviews. Have a nice day.
