awesome. so were these like promotional albums yamaha commissioned for something? i know this was pretty common practice in japan, like how Muji hired hosono to do bgm for their stores

that's probably what they were, can only assume though, as the releases are pretty bare bones; no notes on the insert and no info on the tapes. got them off yahoo auctions, and beyond a basic description, the auction page didn't have much to say about them either.

@@should_be_asleep it would make sense. i lived over there for some years, and it was not uncommon to have commissioned BGM in retail stores. my sister in law taught piano lessons at a yamaha piano store, and they had a shop area that sold instruments and stuff where they always had music playing. i bet that tape was made for those stores

@@briangoldberg4439 thanks for the info, your guess sounds pretty spot on to me - one of the only things i could find online about Umezawa was that she was name-dropped in a Yamaha promotional interview for a new electone model (i think)
