There are lot of ways musicians and can show off. Some are masters of their instruments, others are masters of songwriting and can build and release tension with expert precision. Sometimes a singer can move me to tears with the poetry and sincerity in the lyrics. This seems to be something entirely different: it's music with no ego. It's just for the listener.

Hello. I reckon there are several translations of this album cover text into English floating around in cyberspace, but I'd like to post my personal translation here. For everyone who enjoys this lovely album, I'd be honored if it helps you connect more deeply with its spirit. " One day, I found a small spring in the depths of Ion. As its pure water endlessly gushed forth, so too did a nascent power, hitherto held within the forest, begin its course. Rain falls in drops. Lightning sunders the firmament. Amidst a sudden thunderstorm, I trace my own memories. ―That distant summer day― That time so filled with endless possibility. This small spring of Ion, the gurgling brook, the rain: water, in as many forms as it may take. Water - that which makes a circuit of the world itself - is reborn within this forest. Moistening the soil and fostering life... Upon this planet, blue and beautiful, enduring untold millions of years in its splendor, I am to feel, without limit, a helpless devotion. " I have a hard time with those last few lines. Ask me in a year, or a month, or a day, and I'll have an entirely different "answer". Peace.

ION SERIES by takashi KOKUBO - Oasis Of The Wind II ~ A Story Of Forest And Water ~ Album cover translation: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One day, deep in the ION forest I found a small spring. As serene water wells up endlessly, the new powers which were preserved by the forest begin to move. A drop of rain, then a thunder rips the sky apart. In the middle of a sudden thunderstorm, my mind drifts back to that long-gone summer day, the days of unlimited possibilities. The ION forest's small spring, the stream, the rain, they are all but an ever changing forms of water. Water that circulates the earth become revived in the forest. Invigorating the land and nurturing life. I feel an endless affection for this beautiful blue planet, which continues to shine for millions of years.

I feel like this was created by a man who had no ego. someone who genuinely wanted to serve others and bring them to a state of calmness through his art. Listening to this album felt like the artist made it specifically for me. He wasnt trying to impress with his technical skill (even though its obviously there) rather he used his ability to serve the purpose of making something extremely enjoyable to the listener. Yes I experience this type mood often . Just shut off the TV unless it's a music channel with something like this , shut off your phone or at least mute it and get away from Facebook , Instagram and all that nonsense . Have respect for nature and quiet ... the wind and the water and simply allow the universe to speak to you . Even just five or ten minutes a day walk in the woods , trees , or around water etc .can make a massive difference . Don't expect others to give you peace of mind you have to get it for yourself..create it . Even if you live in an apartment you can achieve this if you have a nice view of trees and sky or greenery and sky and have one spot that is your place of sanity... you can sit there and experience this ; you will have a sense of the sacred and feel centered and whole . It's a bit harder if you don't have control over your environment if you have a lot of people around you constantly watching TV , blasting music and if you can't have peace when you want it . I wish all beings everywhere to be able to have this kind of peace and peace of mind because everyone deserves it

this album is like hiking up a mountain on a chilly autumn morning, dew drops dripping down every blade of grass, with your best fried by your side. no words need to be spoken. just the pure peace and refreshing air of the outdoors. marveling at the perfect balance of it all. it can be easy to forget where we all started: wild, free, angry, vicious. but also serene, happy, balanced, content. the amazing part of nature is the duality and the amazing impact it has on every living thing. i hope you find it too, friend.

i already cry tears of happiness when i listen to this album but reading thru the comments really makes the tears flow. the connection music gives humanity is one of the most incredible things to me. from all over the world, during any timezone, someone out there is listening to this lovely album the same way i am, and wordlessly sharing that feeling that blooms inside of us from what could be thousands of miles away. just... pure peace and love. ive got auditory-tactile synesthesia and this album feels like running your fingertips through a brisk creek, like running your arm through a patch of tall grass and feeling it spring back up to reach for the sun, like ducking and dodging around hanging branches, like the lightest of droplets of a morning rain hitting my eyelids. the sounds flow over me like satin and ground me like nothing else. thank you takashi kokubo :')

The only drawback is I wish they would bring the vocals up front just a bit . They barely register. Also the tubular bells have an echo that isn't compatible with sax. Why people feel a need to cram the hard edged horn in this gentle whisper almost ruins it. The upper ringing tones could drop out as they are too monotonous. I think so too. Personally, I think I feel that way because its timelessness detaches me from the 'now' even more. The sounds here are the same --and just as effective-- as they were three decades ago. Somehow, the fact that it withstands the test of time adds even more magic to the peaceful forests and spring rains I'm transported to whenever I listen to this. Just my two cents.

All, I had the pleasure of listening to this whilst driving home from the lake district (UK). I needed to escape 'the Grey' city life and spend some time with nature again. Its quite clear that an uncluttered mind made this album and I felt sense of peace I haven't for some time, to those of you that don't appreciate this kind of thing, just give it a chance. We're all so eager to judge and not so eager to accept. This came out in 1993 and sounds like it's not due to be released until 2023. Way ahead of its time!

This album is considered music for plants! It's not really performative - plants can't listen to music - so it's a gift for the soul. The structure of the music mimics natural in the sense that it's random, but consistent in its randomness. This music is so relaxing to us because our brains are always trying to predict patterns in music and this music doesn't have much of a clear pattern. Very organic and great meditation music - nature with melody!

After a year stuff got only worse, there are good moments, but there were too many awful things that at one point month ago led me to psych ward for a week, because I couldn't keep up with everything that was going on around me... So after a year, it's still a journey to find happiness, but especially to find peace. I came up with a story while listening and to be honest seeing it in my mind, I burst into tears. I’ve never made myself cry like that so, I hope you enjoy my short tale of a old man and his garden. And please feel free to add in your own details if you imagine it and if you want share them! Thank you. In a village not far but neither to close, up the many hills is where waterfalls flow from the high cliffs, providing the residing village with a fresh cool gift as from the mountains above and with this gift of life the village had taken the opportunity to garden. This then turned into a custom, you’d find homes engulfed by sweet flowers delicate to the touch, bushes tall and fair with leaves sprouting out so far you’d almost get hit with one if not carful enough, ivy covering homes like a soft blanket in the cold of a winters night. As tangled and messy as it may seem it was tame, organized and especially it was above all neat. Perfection blossoms, were the words always spoken and heard. But for one old home, the village never spoke such words, warped wood fences tangled with vines, weeds in every nock and cranny, wild mountain flowers all scattered and unsorted. As for who was responsible for this mess, non other then that crazy old man as the village called him. Who wore a small smile, while his messy madness, untidy and uncared for no good of a garden resided. The village all turned their heads on the man, but the man was humble. He knew of eyes that judged in the market and those who spoke in secret as he passed, but the man was always smiling. For someone so outcasted he never seemed for even a moment less happy. As everyone had their backs to him, a young boy among the mid day markets crowd heard the harsh words spoken, but did not fall so easily into judgment. He became fascinated with this mysterious old man, everyone had seemingly hated. So forth, the young boy not to long after found the old man walking steadily home, clean stone steps refined to the corners with not even a fallen cherry blossom to be seen. The boy then approached the old man and began asking questions. To which the old man replied with only a hand motion forward. Up the steps they went father, as they moved forward the steps began to look dirty and worn. Grass took the sides as did small flowers and plants of all kinds. The boy had never seen such a sight, amazed he to remained silent up and up these steps of old but to him new. Soon the old mans home was in sight, the boy eager to see what was spoken of so heavily. He found it to all be true, vines made up the fences, weeds invaded all manner of spaces and wild flowers were spread out as far as could be. Then what was never said, was a stone carved bench among all the mess. The old man sat with his smile now grown even larger. The young boy asked, “sir, but why do you smile, this place is but only a untidy mess”. The old man spoke softly but briefly, only looking into his garden as he spoke the of his past. The love of his life was the most beautiful of wild flowers, she was adventurous and free as could be. His young daughters wrapped around everything that looked like fun and got into every nock and cranny of mischief there was. Tears glistened in his eyes as the young boy sat and listened, soon they talked for hours on end of all sorts of memories, the boy sat and listened with a smile of his own. Finally the old man said thank you, for your kindness and compassion, it will not be forgotten. The day had faded to night and the old man slept more then peacefully, one last time. -Water G. Salvatore Yeah I like it enough to sign it, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed! 💙

Ah. So he was content with his messy garden. To him that was his perfection. He liked it wild and untame. I respect that. I guess it's about perspective , here. And I loved the part where the kid was going up the steps paraphrasing here " as he went along up the old steps to him were new. I love that description

@JeyseAmerica24, I feel like in life we get stuck inside our own perspectives to easily and judge others far to quickly, and thank you for enjoyed the part about the steps cause I felt like that was kinda a run on and I believe I changed it up more when I re wrote it, thank you for your lovely comment btw!! Have a wonderful day 💙🌱💙

For someone so outcasted he never seemed for even a moment less happy...His happiness seemed to root from his connection to something unknown by the villagers. Just beyond the tangled fence and twisted ivy mess. Lye secrets enjoyed by the gaze of understanding. In Our world, we get to imagine a jungle of possibilities through the old mans eyes. You always hear those rumors of him looking at the ground with telescope goggles on. Tiny teams timelessly tinkering towards tethered twins. Movers and shakers, churning the soil. Moving to where they can. What is there purpose? What do they seek to accomplish?...
