I remember back in '80s my local guitar store had quite a few Westone Spectrum guitars in, they were terrible! I think they all had build issues and the some of saddles were as far forward as they would go but were still not intonated, about 5 or 6 years later I noticed they still had the majority of those same guitars on the floor. The Westcreek made me think of those Westones!

@@AndrewAHayes well first run at T-style guitars for a company who has only produced set neck G-style models. Other than a few easily resolvable issues, not bad at all for a first kick at the can. No intonation issues on these. They are easily intonated with lots of forward and rearward adjustments. A lot has changed since the 80s 😉

Thanks, brother man. I have been waiting for this video. So, the big question... How would you compare the WestCreek TT-20 to the Musi Classic? Not that it really matters since I can't find the Musi Classics anywhere these days, but I am curious.
@j-man94575 ай бұрын
Good question! As far as playability, weight, comfort and feel goes, very similar. However the Musi Classic is still the more superior guitar as far as features go... The Musi stock has a real blade switch, puretone jack, SS frets, compound radius fretboard, cloth wire pickups, staggered locking tuners and the truss rod wheel adjustment at the bottom of the neck. However the Musi is almost $200 CAD more. So I guess it comes down to what's important to you feature wise😀
@TedTalksGuitars5 ай бұрын
@@j-man9457 - That makes sense. Not a truly fair comparison. Do you know of anything on the market that is on the level of the Musi Classic (as those are unavailable, at least here in the US)? I have a Squire 50s CV which I love (in spite of feeling like it wasn’t worth the money as it was around $425 US and I have done a lot of work to it. Swapped out tuners, replaced the nut with a Graphtech, upgraded to brass compensated saddles, and dealt with a lot of fret issues% Alas, I am not exactly happy with the pups. I hate to dump more money into it at this point, but might as well. Not sure what more I would possible need (smile). Is there an easier way to communicate with you than commenting on vids? Not that we know each other like that or anything.
@j-man94575 ай бұрын
@@TedTalksGuitars Hahaha I have been through that with Squires and Fenders... I can't justify their asking price and then be not happy with it and sink money in it that I'll never get back. People say a budget guitar doesn't hold their value, but a 300$ guitar will always be a 300$ guitar haha I haven't lost money yet hahaha! Here in Canada I don't know of anything that would come close to the-musi features stock out of the box for $485 CAD! Up in the US, I hear fire fly and Leo Jaymz are pretty interesting. I think neck and body wise they may compare to the Musis, but the electronics fall short, but you could change all that! nosaj39@hotmail.com is my email 😃

@@TedTalksGuitars If you’re in the United States and you’re seeking a traditional Telecaster-style guitar, I would recommend the Firefly FFTL. I thought of that but most ashtrays available here are 4 hole mount across the bottom. This mounts with 3 holes across the bottom and 2 up top at each corner. You'd have to drill additional holes for an ashtray mount and then you'd see the 2 screw holes at the top as the ashtray base plate is shorter than the traditional base plate...
@keenedgedesigns5 ай бұрын
@@j-man9457 I thought the footprint was the same. This is unrelated but I have a Godin Radiator that I hated the bridge on and cut down a Tele bridge to replace it. @@j-man9457 The 4 vs 3 screw mount and the bridge/saddle lengths are not the only things you have to worry about. The string-through holes will also be in a different place, and that’s CRUCIAL, not just because you’ll have holes to plug, but because it also affects the break angles over the saddles.
@j-man94575 ай бұрын
@@zuperdee yeah I've done it before and it worked fine but you have to make sure the string through body holes and the pickup rout line up with both bridge plates and the rest you can fill and re-drill and the intonation will dial in with no issues... @zuperdee5 ай бұрын
Overall, probably not THE most exciting or technically impressive Telecaster-style guitar you’ve ever done, but it’s clearly FAR better than many, including some more expensive ones out there! This one seems very basic but very solid. If it were me, I might consider replacing the neck pickup-it is rather dark sounding for a Tele… But then again, it could go either way. As for the switch: It sounds like it might be similar to the ones sold under the Kaish brand on Amazon-they do seem more solid and have a much better feel than the typical box switches found in many Squier guitars, for example.
@j-man94575 ай бұрын
Yup, mod and upgrade possibilities on this are limitless hahaha... The switch is not a Kaish, but it could be from the same factory🤔 because it sure feels like one!
