For half a century nations like the US and the UK have benefitted from Muslim migration. Now there are signs the tide is turning.
Emigrating or ‘leaving Europe’ has emerged as a conceivable option among a wide range of people who identify as Muslim.
Meanwhile, the neo-liberal project is tragically breaking down leaving poverty of society and spirit in its wake.
I hope we can chat about this intelligently. Personally, I want my nation of birth, the UK, to be beautiful and full of hope. Prayers for you, wherever you live in these strange times.

Waalaikummusalam Lauren. My son studied & worked in London & he initially wanted to settle down there to raise his children. I was secretly praying that he’ll get a good job back home & Alhamdulillah Allah answered my prayer. It’s been a year they are back with us in Malaysia. I wasn’t worried for him but it’s my grandchildren’s upbringing & environment in London that i was really worried about.

We did "Hijra" to Madinah for about 16 years, but returned to the UK due to spouse health and the NHS. Often, in many countries, access to health is based on how deep one's pockets are. I have no idea about what Turkey has to offer in this regard. The point being made here, is that if people are going to move, they want access to facilities. That's the reality.

Clearly the fact that things in Britain that offend you and don't offend me demonstrates there is a compatibility issue with Islam and the West. There are a million things in Muslim countries that completely offend and disgust me. That's why I'd never live there. However, you are bringing those things to my country and expecting me to change? I don't think so.

Yeah I think the problem is with them. Lets flip this around. "I grew up in Saudi as an English Christian woman. I couldn't enjoy my Easter Egg hunt because of ALL THE SAUDI MUSLIMS doing their Ramadan thing. I tell you, I'm thinking of moving to a Christian country. Why doesn't everyone in Saudi adapt to MY WAYS." See how mental that sounds

It's interesting how quickly western norms have changed. Our great grandparents all covered themselves with scarves when they went out. They were literally wore _hijab_ as seen in the 1902 Manchester _Edwardian Britain in colour_ footage. During the 60's people like Mary Quant started popularising the mini skirt, then everyone began wearing clothes that would have seemed outrageous a decade earlier, not to mention the hippie movement embracing the sexual revolution. Drugs like marijuana and LSD became more commonly used in the 60's. "Madonna said in Advocate magazine, which is a homosexual magazine - ‘She kisses girl in public, on stage, because she wants people to get used to seeing this. They might initially be disgusted by it, but she said it also might excite them, and eventually they will see it as a normal thing’. So these people literally have agendas, they are advocating social change, and it’s not for traditional values. She ended one of her songs saying ‘We are bored of the concept of right and wrong’. So these people are immoral, they don’t believe in moral concepts of right and wrong. They live in the concept of do whatever you want. And this is one the first teachings of Islam “If you have no shame, do whatever you want”. And part of modern culture is to remove shame or modesty from people [..] Children are modest by nature, they are not shameless. So it’s important you don’t lose that, cause once lose shame, everything goes with it." ~ Hamza Yusuf Hanson

True, early 20thC to late-19thC people wore headscarfs and generally covered themselves for modesty (and the cold) but even then you didn't HAVE to. There was no punishment. A woman could take off her scarf or show her legs, nobody was going to lash her or hang her. A frown at most was the consequence. And many Europeans today still think over exposure is gross and trashy. These things go around it's called the cycles of decency. Pre-revolution Paris had women walk bare breasted at parties to everyone whooping. 40 years later it was considered disgusting and crass which I agree. That doesn't mean I want bloody sharia death or lashes for every pathetic transgression. That's not part of the cycle of decency. That just fear driven tyranny.

Samer ramadan he make hijra from US to Turkey 9 years ago, I inherited the job of the Ramadan family historian from the historian in Beirut. I started with the family tree and searched for family members all over the world online until I found 5 thousand of them Here are the statistics of everyone who immigrated to the countries of the West Of those who emigrated 100 years ago, 96% of their descendants are no longer Muslim... Those who emigrated 80 years ago 75 per cent of their descendants are no longer Muslims, those who emigrated 60 years ago 25 per cent, those who emigrated 40 years ago 25 per cent... I said, You're talking about maintaining four percent over 100 years, and is that the logic of what you want for your offspring?

People like and dislike things in every country. You don't have to be a Muslim to be upset. I'm offended by the laws in some Middle Eastern countries but who am I to change them? But complaining about pot spoke is so trivial. Then telling us how bad drugs and nudity are sounds preachy. how fitting Here comes the European morality police.
