Matthew Peet Great video of the fly that started my fly tying, fly fishing addiction some fifty years ago on the Kern River, CA. I had a fifty+ fish day swinging a Western Coachman through one of my favorite sections of this river.

It's so cool that you use hair from your own deer to tie flies. If I ever get back to hunting, I'd only do so if I knew I could harvest meat as well as feathers and fur for the sake of conserving everything we've got. Not to mention that material is infinitely better than anything in the stores.

Tim, could you make a video on tying a Chocolate Thunder Foam Emerger? I got one from a shop in denver and struggling to figure out how it is tied. I can send photos of it.

It reminds me of the captain. That was the fishinest fly of my childhood. The main difference is it has feather wings instead of deer hair. In 14 to 16, it could be wet or dry. Many 40-50 fish days with that one.

That was great, thanks for the tip on the deer hair.
