@@mr.whipples411universe thanks! There are not many yet - my KZbin channel is still young, and I work a lot of hours still. This is only a weekend hobby right now. Everyone is so supportive though!

Love this sir!! You've showed me some awesome shortcuts! Could you tell me about the little vice clamp you used to press the spring into place in order to install the pin? I have subscribed sir and will be giving you a shout out. So glad I came across your channel!

@@theknifedoctor , thank you! I have watched several of your videos in the past. I've been piddling around with knives for a few years, yet watching your channel recently inspired me to create my own! I am using a $20 hobby vise from Harbor Freight. There is a tool that works better, but I have not tried to build one yet. This post is old and I doubt that he still sells these, but he does show how to build them: www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=10069&p=458914&hilit=Camillus+knife+vise#p458914 You should join AAPK, if you are not already a member. Great people, and I learn so much there.

@@southernknifehobbyist thank you!! What is AAPK?
@southernknifehobbyistАй бұрын
@@theknifedoctor, a knife forum, AllAboutPocketKnives.com AAPK for short. LOTS of old knife catalogs and other research help, tons of pictures, tutorials, knives for sale, and a lot of folks who just like knives. We maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere there for the most part, with nothing that you would have to hide from your kids. My handle there is "Reverand".

Both of you guys are my new favorite “go to” channels on KZbin! I have found and have been watching The Knife Doctor since I cleaned up my late uncle’s knives and learned lots of great tricks. Joined AAPK in my new found interest and there, the Reverand pointed me in the right direction, and shortly after discovered this channel. Two great inspirations in one comment section! Absolutely recommend AAPK, Doc! Another great video Reverand!

That deletion makes for a far better knife for this shape of handle. Now the knife can make use of the folds in the handle instead of gripping the other knife back.--very uncomfortable. Reminds me of the Case 6265. The 6165 works.--------------- Thanks for all your good information and methods, I have certainly learned a lot!

Could you list the type of glue you used? I’m doing a similar refurb this week.
@southernknifehobbyistКүн бұрын
@@Walkingman.45 I put the broken pieces back together with Super Glue (or an off-brand of it). I glued the handles on with Gorilla Glue Clear, if I remember correctly. I tend to use either: Gorilla Glue original Gorilla Glue Clear Cleat epoxy, various brands. Any of those hold very well, plus I pin the blades on as well. Not only does that double the ability of the handles to stay in place, but the glue seals up the space between the handles and the liners. Send pictures of your knife when you are finished with it!!
