Your reply to my comment indicates a common culture of "cuteness" and showing off among your group. A bad accident will cure you of that. Steam locomotives are not toys and should not be played with that way. Burns are common among steam engineers and firemen form sudden leaks and the glass gauge breaking open You'll learn. Grow up. He knows what's hot and what ain't hot. When he was fourteen I got him involved in a scenic railway steam train and he learned railroading from the ground up. I'm proud of him. He is in a high management position with Amtrak now. He can operate that locomotive better than most. He was born to do it.

Yes it was I was on the train that day and it was COMPLETY necessary to do that.. also I am applying for a job for WMSRR (Western Maryland Scenic Rail Road) and the Baldwin is STILL running beautifully....

Yeah, its rub on the western maryland scenic railroad, its a passenger train and you can pay for a ride. Its relatively expensive, but if you have the money its totally worth it!

moving on a summer day it is usually 100 give or take degrees pending on your spot in cab. standing still on a warm summers day it can be 160 degrees

i sure can do without them old EMD GP-30 Diesel's Both numbered 501 & 502 for a while i can really use a supper nice long Break from those 2 i'm from Turnersville,N.J. and there is nothing more than Just Plain old Boring Diesel Freight and Passenger Commuter trains which are more like those stupid City Buse's up in this area i like the old Fashion Steam Train Locomotives and the sound of there Whistle's 100% a heck of a whole lot Better,hey when's that Baldwin 2-6-6-2 Steam Locomotive # 1309 going to be ready to be all fixed up nice and neat and ready and all nice and clean and safe to pull the Train from Ridgley Yards,Ridgley,WestVirginia and to Cumberland,Maryland and Frostburg,Maryland and Back and for it to have the Nickname Maryland Thunder #1309,i can't wait!,8:52
