I've been seeing on other videos that people who are experiencing this type of treatment from their insurance companies for a legitimate claim. People who go to their local TV station and shine a light on the problem, it usually gets resolved quickly. These insurance companies don't want bad publicity. It's worth a shot.

I write comparative insurance estimates for homeowners only came here to try to help to some degree without making homeowners more broke. I really wish like a larger youtuber would spend a day with me and with the homeowners consent just let me show the 75 claims I am working on yes... 75 large losses...on my own....that's a lot btw most people do 1 to 3 a week. Anyways....fuck em. I would love to expose these assholes. USAA, SF, nationwide, allstate, etc. all garbage. Farm Bureau is the best of the worst...not saying they are good just a little less worse then the other ones.

I think I know the home he is talking about...the insurances have pulled this in Montreat. Massive trees hit homes and any sight of any water they say it was a mudslide. They will only cover where the tree impacted but not the remaining 90%.... I wish I could do more and I wish homeowners would take my advice I know how to push shit through. Tell them to contact the South Carolina Department of Insurance to get the names and phone numbers of several public adjusters in the area. Public Adjusters will go after the insurance company on a percentage of the money they secure. They usually recover more than cover their own expenses. The South Carolina bar association should also be able to give them referrals to a few attorneys to talk to about a lawsuit. Most of those attorneys will not charge or only minimally charge to discuss their case.

It's kind of scary to go without home insurance. We just bought a house that no one will insure. We were planning to redo the electrical wiring throughout the house. They will not insure it if home owner does the work. We can't afford to pay someone to do the work nor did we plan to do so. It will be months to get this work done. Of course they will still not want to insure us because we didn't get licensed contractor. So we will just have to pray that we can get by without insurance

I live in Florida and will never get wind and storm insurance again. Rates are unbelievably high. People don’t get paid and have to get a lawyer. In southeast Florida they are in the same situation as these people. Still about 150 unpaid claims there since Ian in 2023. I am going to save the money I would have spent. This block house has been here since 1963 and through many hurricanes, especially lately. I have lived here for 30 years in northeast central Florida on the barrier island beachside. Had to pay for a roof once after Hurricane Irma. It was only $8,000 dollars. Got a great roofer, owner did the work. Others wanted $25,000 dollars , back THEN. But my insurance agent said this year that if there is a catastrophic storm, the insurance companies won’t pay. They will leave first. Wishing you the best. ❤️

Per the NC building codes, a homeowner can self-contract in NC in plumbing, wiring, etc. If the work is inspected by a municipal building inspector and is certified as meeting all building codes, the insurance company cannot refuse to insure. If they deny the application, it should be reported as a complaint against the company to the NC Insurance Commissioner in writing along with a copy of the denial. SC and NC follow the same building codes.

Insurance companies seem to be changing policy terms AFTER THE FACT...thus not providing services the people have contracted and paid for-for years. At the very least, return monies paid for reneged services of coverage promised and breech of contract.As they are refusing regular STORM DAMAGE. JUST LIKE EVERYOTHER STORM. If you hire a public insurance adjuster, they do not ask for money up front. they get around 10% once they have settled the case. It took about 6 months for my public ins adjuster to get it done. Allstate would not cover my hail damage. Never had a claim in 20 yrs. Public ins adjuster are like attorneys..a middleman that knows the loops. I highly recommend seeking one out.

I came here to help with Hurricane helene with my current employer. They are paying me at a straight loss because they wanted to help homeowners with this BS. I'll spend days on a claim weeks months and it's a long drawn scam. But it's a long drawn out process and end of day need money to get shit done. Also....this area DOES not have a lot of local insurance agents, insurance contractors, adjusters, etc. No structural engineers etc. The insurance is sending people from Texas....it's bad...I dont think you could find an IA to help that's local

Nobody should have to pay insurance on an uninhabitable dwelling! No way!! The whole reason for insurance is to insure against disasters and problems. When it is uninhabitable, there is nothing to insure! The policy should br dropped and none required until repairs can be made!

This is a class action lawsuit coming and the NC Insurance Commissioner better get off the couch and suspend their authority to issue any new policies of any line of business until they settle their claims. The company may be going insolvent anyway, so they may go into receivership with the state of NC. Very cruel company to treat people like this. The Trump Administration is going to have to get involved if the Insurance Commissioner wont. Let's see what Josh Stein does about this. No way he can ignore this size of a problem in his first year of office.

Yes,these spillways were supposed to have been opened before the storm arrived to lower the water level on the lakes and reservoirs. That wasn’t done. They waited to open them when the storm was upon us and then unleashed the water at full capacity. EVIL

If God lays it on anyone's heart I'm sure they will put the money to good use. There were 6495 views so 1000 wouldn't be hard to reach. I think some people need to make a visit to the insurance company, maybe they need to be asked questions face-to-face. Not cause a big sister, but have a witness or two with you and ask him to face to face answers because this does not sound right. These people have been so traumatized. these insurance companies are just scammers, I couldn’t consciously work for a company that did this to. I would have to walk out of my office and quit if I couldn’t help the people that bought policies from me. Help them in someway. This is just wrong this poor family.❤️❤️❤️❤️

If the contractors can't give a quote it sounds like the house is damaged beyond repair. The family should consider putting the mortgage payment into an escrow account and stop paying the bank, and let the bank foreclose on the property. Move on from this disaster and start over.
