I was thrilled to finally hear someone with a degree discuss forms. This is something I am always going on and on about. It is such a difficult concept to convey to people that have no minds eye...

Because of my hunger to understand perspectives, I've come to appreciate some of the villains perspectives. In my opinion they often do more good for society than the hero's in the long run. Hero's save other's, in turn it weakens those souls, robs them of the opportunity to adapt. A villain applies pressure to society, offers others a chance to overcome weakness. Pressure creates greatness... Reality is quite illusive. What you would think is a good idea is often something that will pave the way to hell. For instance if I could snap my fingers and remove the ability for corruption to exist in our systems, billions of people would die within weeks. The hero would instantly become the villain...

Thank you for your comment! I agree that what is considered "heroic" is relative, and it is also something that changes over time. In Homer's times, heroes would have to be strong, arrogant, ready to fight. Today, we often have sympathy for broken heroes, or everyday heroes, who might be just the opposite in terms of character from the Homeric heroes. But I don't think that this needs to lead to total relativity of values. I would not like to defend corruption, just because it happens to exist right now, even if it was, in fact, necessary at this moment in particular places. I'd still like to dream of a world that operates on honesty and solidarity.

@@dailyphilosophy I can't disagree with you. I believe living life without principles and values will lead to a life of misery. I wish society could snap out of the illusions they believe in, but it's always easier to believe in a fairytale waiting on saviors than to take accountability.
