Okay, we'll call that the 'tough mudder' version of early spring camping...........good for you two for finding any reason to get out into nature. Keep adventuring!

😆 The trail conditions weren't great but we made the best of it. We were just happy to get in an Algonquin trip before another backcountry closure. Thanks for following our adventures Ian!

It's good to hear from you. We always enjoy getting out even during tough spring conditions. The snow is all gone now and I'm looking forward to paddling trips. Thanks for watching!😁

Nice weather, & a lot faster without snowshoes. Nice to see some green moss!

The hot spring weather came quickly this year and I'm happy we were able to get out and enjoy it. A much different change of pace from snowshoeing. Thanks for watching!

Backpacking in the spring is not fun when there is still snow, nor is postholing as you guys clearly found out. Kudos to pushing on. Hopefully you'll get out there again when you can enjoy the trail under normal conditions. The Western Highland was my first backpacking trip in the park and we had quite the experience. Very disappointing re garbage.

The trail conditions were challenging but we still had fun. It will probably be awhile before we can go camping again so I'm happy we got out when we did. Hopefully all the new covid campers respect our parks and wild areas. Thanks for watching!

I was happy to sneak that trip in even if the conditions weren't the best. I can't wait for our gov to legalize backcountry camping again, you must be missing it too. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Tom, it was good to get out. I just hope these new covid campers respect our wilderness environments and leave them as they found them. Thanks for checking out the video! 🇨🇦😀

Whoa guys this looks awesome, we have done the small loop but never the medium loop, let alone in that deep of snow before! 🤞 the backcountry opens up again soon or we are going to be pretty sad 😥

Let's hope the backcountry reopens early May. Sunny days 😎 are ahead and long days paddling. Thanks for watching!

@@AleconAdventures what do you think the bugs will be like this year?
@AleconAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I'm hoping they won't be too bad. There wasn't that much snow this past winter and with the early ice out there should be less stagnant water for them to breed. I guess it will also depend on the weather over this next month.

For reference what were the dates you went out? Recently? Still lots of snow!
@AleconAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, we were out the last 3 days of March just before Algonquin closed camping April 1st. There was still lots of snow then especially on the north facing slopes but most of it is gone now. Thanks for watching!

Great adventure guys! Just wondering if that is the Luxe Hex Peak XL tent you used in Patagonia? If so, did you purchase it here in Canada or perhaps in the US? Really enjoy your channel. Cheers.
@AleconAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, it's the same tent we used in Patagonia the Hexpeak XL. We like it alot but it does have a big footprint and needs a big tent spot to set up correctly. I ordered it online from Canada and it shipped to me fairly quickly. I went on the Luxe website recently and saw they had a backlog of orders due to high demand. It might take awhile to get one but that seems to be the case with all outdoor goods right now. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the channel. Thanks for watching!

Would snowshoes have made a significant difference?
@AleconAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alan, in multiple areas, definitely YES! At times we were up to our waist in snow, so it was very slow travel. If we had snowshoes it would have been much faster. The snowshoes would have stopped us from post holing so much, which is exhausting! Thanks for watching my videos!
