As a youngster I worked with the Scottish conversation project 'the glen boys' up the glen restoring it under then boss Kevin shackell and went on to volunteer with the boys to help maintain it. Francy is still active in keeping it maintained with the help of people. It's a great gateway to the beith dam, whinhill golf course and further afield In addition to the volunteers, action for children and the trust employability had helped at times with their volunteers and staff. I've always loved going up that glen with my fishing rod when i was younger too fish the 'beezy' spent many a summer up there alongside many folk from the east end of Greenock
