Thanks for making this video , I'm flying for the first time in 30 years and I had never heard of WestJet . I'm going from Las Vegas to Toronto to visit family and they made the arrangements . Glad to know they have leg room , I'm 6'3 .

Boeing sky interior is not standard on the 737 NG’s I assume it costs extra. On the max, it is Standard.

The first few economy rows on the Boeings are Extended Comfort Seats w/ 3-6” more pitch (the 737s have around 34” and the other Boeings, excluding ex-Swoop Max 8s, have up to around 36”) and up to 3” more recline.

Alaska Airlines sources their seats from a major manufacturer of airline seats called Recaro. Many other airlines use the same seats, and this Westjet plane definitely looks like one of them. Pretty sure I’ve also seen the same seats on United’s A320s.

I may be biased as I have pretty much only flown WestJet, with a couple flights on AC, but my experience with them has been great. Their premium seats and treatment is very good, and the 787 is very nice to fly on.

Great Video and good perspective with your review. Despite you don't drink alcohol or ordered any food, it would be great to mention if they do have an in-fligh menu or options to order other drinks... since I was in Premium class I know they had bubblies, wine and soft drinks in addition to a snack box for that cabin... I had the chance to fly in Premium cabin and economy, and you are absolutely right, the feeling of AS is there... however, I do prefer AS of WS and I prefer WS way over AC. Recently had the chance to fly WS from YOW to YYZ (40min flight) at 6am and let me tell you that I have much better service in WS Premium Cabin than DL from YYZ to ATL (2hrs flight)

My initial impression is WestJet was the Canadian version of Southwest Airlines. But here,you mention first class seating,787's and routes to Hawaii and Europe so obviously the SWA model wasn't working for Canadians.Seeing those FC seats,now you have an excuse to do another trip report on this airline. My home airport being IAH,I believe WestJet flies to Calgary from here--my bucketlist includes flying WestJet to Vancouver via Calgary. I wish more countries would do the US pre-clearance thing,it makes it so much easier for US citizens--knowing French is the second language in Canada,really odd to be deep into US airspace,hearing the FA make landing announcements in French,wondering if that is mandatory for Canadian flight crews? Will we see your trip to visit family in Guanajuato? Interesting,a US naturalized citizen,by way of Mexico,waking up in a hotel in Calgary where French is standard! :)

The crew has to legally give all safety announcements in both English and French in Canada, as they are the two official languages.

@jasonmoors1191 French is not standard in Calgary and especially not in a hotel. Hardly anybody in Calgary speaks French as their 1st language. Although French is an official language in Canada it is rarely encountered or needed to communicate outside of PQ, although there is also a large French population in MB.

Yes, there are still a few left over, especially on the -700s, but they are quickly being retrofitted. I would say the majority now has the new seats.

Hey question! During the check in and boarding. Did they ever check your carry on if they meet their size limitations? I have a Monos Carry on Pro Plus which is slightly bigger than most limitations but works fine with United and Alaska. Idk how thatll go with WestJet…

Can i let you in on a little secret.... If your a Person that fly's first flight out or mid morning or red eye flights,etc never order water unless its bottled or coffee in flight, Think about where the water comes to make the coffee, etc? If they don't pour it out of the bottle water most likely come from the gray tank that you use to wash your hands in the bathroom. Which that to is not safe to drink,etc.

Westjet airlines cant take you all city like maui ogg and Ohoa hnl and Nevada las and mbj and fll airport and Hawaii and new York and jumba and westjet hometown airports is yyc and Toronto airport and Vancouver too

I"m 58,6'1" and can't afford to sit up front--I don't fly enough to earn mileage awards to have a complimentary FC seat--I would consider a domestic premium economy seat though
