I was lucky enough to share the airfield (EBGB, Grimbergen, Belgium) circuit often with a Lysander restored by the Sabena Oldtimers Club; they restored it from what you could call a total wreckage. Very impressive aircraft, both on the ground and in their. I used to chat with the pilot from time to time, a Sabena DC-10 captain. Very nice model, sir, I enjoyed this video!

I saw that very self-same plane (the "Sabena" Lysander) flying over my house many years ago Razor sharp sighting because it was at fairly low altitude over the Eastern outskirts of London My old schoolmate Adrian & I were STUNNED as were used to seeing it display at Duxford It was flying towards Kent & the English Channel (direction) a few days after Duxford, flying home to Belgium Would sincerely like to know = What happened to it & who own it today, in the years 2023 & next year 2024 ? Who owns it & what nation does it currently reside in & of course, is it still airworthy ? I built the old, old Series.1 AIRFIX kit (plastic bag & staples) back in the very early 1970's Built the Matchbox Lysander also upon it's first release circa 1973/1974 , but came late than the AIRFIX I never did get to build the "new tooling" Series.2 kit AIRFIX bought out around 1974 onwards (drop tank) Always been one of my favourite planes too

Not my greatest landing but had a Rx telemetry warning beeping away so wanted to get it down ASAP.

An excellent demonstration of the model's ability to tolerate being chucked about.

Two more months Pete, and you too will be back in shorts...big wing and the airport flag was flying. Clive did fine with less than ideal conditions. Pete, as always, thanks for sharing. Jim

cheers jim - it was a short flight as his transmitter warned him its battery was low, then when he landed it was reading battery ok - so he packed her up and went home, looking forward to the better weather m8

My late father had a spin in a real Lysander, that was being used as a 'hack' in about 1946. He was not informed about it's STOL capability, which was an unpleasant surprise when it took off very steeply, and he wasn't fully strapped in. Despite this, it was always one of his favourite aircraft.

I sincerely think Mr. Schofield should baffle that engine inside the cowl if we wishes it to last long! Aside that fantastic model and fantastic engine. On the other hand, no video on the yellow Chipmunk besides the Lysander?....

thanks jesus, the chipmunk had a very short flight that day so not on film,
