Westley and Buttercup: A Magical Love Story

Westley and Buttercup were just teenagers when they were trapped from a rural property this spring.
Buttercup was pregnant, and we realized right away she and Westley loved each other too much for us to separate them. After she gave birth, Westley helped Buttercup raise her four rambunctious babies with the utmost glee and devotion. He took particular pride in keeping them spotless, and teaching them how to storm the castle with great gusto.
It was truly magical to witness the love this family had for each other. ❤
Now that the kittens have gone to their forever families, it's time for our darling Buttercup and her Westley to find a home! We will be adopting them as a bonded pair.
Could you please share their story and help them find a family of their own to love?
We are located just outside of Vancouver, BC (north of Seattle, WA). They are a little over a year old, are delightfully hilarious when they're playing, and LOVE snuggle time. They also love other cats.

They are at an ideal age for adoption because they are experienced enough not to get into all the danger and trouble it's so hard to kitten-proof a house against. It's not so easy to find two cats that will tolerate each other much less be good friends for life. Whoever adopts them will have a wonderful pair of cats for many many years to come. Think about being that lucky person!

I agree. I volunteer at cat rescue and we adopt quite a few adult cats because not everyone wants kittens cause u have too kitten proof everything and they do require a lot work attention and care. Just the other day I was talking with two of the other workers they adopted out two senior cats that were a bonded pair best news I had that day, we have adopted out several senior cats

It is so important to spay and neuter cats. My cat was dropped of at our doorstep. We found out she was 6 months old and was pregnant. We looked after the kittens and now they are in there furrever homes. Now our cat is spayed and is living the princess life!❤️😘

That was hilarious! Westley was so startled! “Wait! Someone’s watching me?? Better run!” Buttercup looked in at them and didn’t get upset. Westley was just SO anxious to meet these little balls of fluff that smelled like his twue wuv Buttercup!

You do such great work! i am hoping to adopt cat 3 sometime this year, Things must align first. Tonight my thoughts are with the Critters in Ida's path. after Katrina so much good work was done with animals, a friend was there and kept me posted......this week i saw that the SPCA sent their animals to Houston; there are now and will be so very many who need our help. They WILL be adopted together. Shelly Roche (Director of Tiny Kittens) does not allow a bonded pair to be separated. That’s why it’s taking so long. Take a look at the story of bonded pair Thorla ( Thor and Nyla).

He could be. I think it's quite likely they are littermates. Cats are more likely to retain that bond. Although a female cat will sometimes prefer a particular tomcat, they usually don't want much to do with them when they aren't in heat. Mother cats are often very hostile to tomcats because they can be a real danger to their kittens. It's not uncommon for a tomcat to kill young kittens so their mother will come in heat again and they have a chance to father the next litter. This behavior is also seen in lions. Tomcats do remember if they are likely to have fathered a particular litter. One reason female cats mate with multiple toms is so the toms will be less likely to threaten their kittens. (Not that they reason this out -- this is a survival advantage to their offspring so this behavior is strongly selected for.)
