A good lecture by a speaker that is rapidly becoming one of my favorites.

Excellent from Alec as usual. As another historical example, note that the phrase "pie in the sky" first appears in a satirical song by early twentieth-century labor activist Joe Hill, who was frustrated with message of the Salvation Army in the cities of the American West. Hill thought that the SA offered bliss in the afterlife rather than trying actually to improve the often desperately poor condition of miners and railroad laborers and their families.
